Not to hijack the thread but...."Switzer & the death of fun"? Guess he was not retelling the story where his starting QB was arrested for having a machine gun in his dorm room? Or the stories bout the multiple rapes his players committed? There was a multi page article about the fun his players had, in Sports Illustrated back when Switzer was in his prime. As to Bret passing out in a grill, can't see it, especially in small town USA.

I have seen skinny guys in EKY down a pint of shine a day with no problem. With his size and weight half gallon to a gallon may not be uncommon, especially as bourbon is sooooo delicious.

If I had to bet money i would bet it's true. Tell tale signs of a person with addiction issues; Berts life if you sit down and look at it is nothing but frick up, clean up mess to where evryything is okay, uck up, clean up mess until everything is okay, frick up. Look at the Auburn / Florida matchup. We got whipped by Auburn. Bert knew that type of arse kicking he hadd to straighten up for the Florida game and we played our best game of the year. Then he goes on a bender and we play our worst game of the year against LSU and lose 38 to 10.
