Anyone heard that OM will amend their proposed penalties?

That rumor has been floating around some medical and legal circles in Jackson today.
The rumor is that OM will acknowledge new things related to Barney they claim they did not know about and will add 5 more scholly reductions over three years and and bowl ban for next year.
The idea is to kinda fall on the sword and attempt to move on.
May be BS, but makes sense in view of the news this week.

They could be pretty good next year. That would be significant. That said, it saves Shea's last year in Oxford.

Sounds reasonable, but don't expect very many reasonable responses from this bunch.

Has anyone heard that there are 3 other boosters who were not originally named on the NOA, that are going to be a part of a followup NOA? Possibly they have 1 on a cell phone recording talking about payments to another player not on the original NOA?

This will NOT end the way some of the OM fans are and have portrayed it........Remember, when it all started they were "pure as new driven snow".......coverups and lies will not look good to the NCAA, and it will show in the final outcome.

If it's coming from OM people it's probably wrong considering their track record so far.

It's from OM people, but these are OM people that have houses in Rosemary Beach and sit in boxes at Vaught Hemingway...and that donate heavily to the school.

I think he means OM is being somewhat proactive here in addressing the issue and trying to put out this four year old fire in their athletic department.
The new info is the draft night Tunsil stuff I would assume.
They will also obviously cut ties with Barney.

Just can't see the NCAA saying, "okay, since you came clean after all of this time, we'll let you off easy". I they do, what's really the downside in cheating like hell and winning a NC (like Auburn) with the outside chance of getting caught, and then the outside chance of getting any serious sanctions.

We have a house in Destiny by the Sea, and seats right beside everyone's favorite news anchor. My office is 3 floors from the top of a building that's full of Ole Miss lawyers. The only thing I believe is that there is a certain law firm in Madison County who has a pretty good finger on the pulse of this investigation.
We'll all find out next Fall.
