I have talked with some rabid OM fans that think he is back this weekend and that the staff is just keeping it on lock down. I have also, conversely, spoken with other OM fans that think he is not coming back at all.

Any word from the SECr?

No idea...but as far as Tunsil goes he really has nothing to gain by playing.

How long does an investigation like this take?

If you have a team working on this day after day, you would think that they could wrap this up pretty quickly.

That is far from accurate. He broke his leg in our bowl game. He needs to show scouts he's the same player he was before.

Not an expert, but this doesn't look promising for his return.

It's the ncaa, they don't care about how long it takes. I don't think he plays again.

He'll be back by Week 7 if he doesn't play this weekend.

It was always going to either by a 4 or 6 game suspension.

I remember the whacko Ole Miss fans saying he'd return after the Bama game. He was only being held out due to Bama cheating. Two weeks later... somebody must have been cheating because they still aren't playing

@ Ole Miss that can't handle reality.

If I had to guess, he will return for the Memphis game. I don't have any sources or anything, but a few weeks ago on the radio someone said it would be 6 games and he would return for Memphis. From what I read this week the rumor is they were appealing to make the 6 game a 4 game ban. My guess is it didn't work. I agree that it is risky for him to come back, but he certainly wants to be out there. He's a top 5 pick no matter what and if he did not want to play he would have said screw going to practice and signed with an agent. I would think that is exactly what he would do if he didn't think he would be playing this season.

He could easily show that in workouts for pro teams. Is there a single mock draft that does not have him currently going top 10?

Kiper has him in his Top 5 right now. Playing does not matter.

Though different situations, I think the NCAA slapping SMUs basketball team is in some way bad news for Ole Miss. The NCAA being on campus for this long and not clearing him, especially in view of how Manziel and Gurley where freed after suspensions, is bad news.

I don't really think Ole Miss gets any serious punishment other than missing a great player.

Unless the NCAA for some reason punishes football for their other programs. I know Ole Miss' women's basketball program is in some pretty deep shite.
