Last I heard it was pretty bad. Which is to be expected with this ailment.

Having to put that disclaimer in your post shows how evil this place can be.

Indeed.

Haven't heard any positive updates in a while to be honest.

No but it sounded like Holly Warlick was crying in her post game interview with Vol Radio. She is gone.

Haven't seen her this season, but last season I worked a game her son was coaching. She was in attendance and seemed to be following the game but had a faraway look when interacting with people. Truly sad.

I hate to say it like this...
I just hope she has been protected or shielded from what Holly Warlick has done to destroy the program she built with a roster stacked with All-Americans. Holly is a wonderful assistant type, someone who lends ears to the concerns of players, etc. But she doesn't and has never had that fire that Pat had.

I have a friend in the offices at UT who is friends with Pat.
I asked how she was doing. The reply I received.
"The Alzheimer's is doing what Alzheimer's does."
Very sad situation. Like all patients she has good days and bad. As this horrid disease progresses there will be more bad than good.

The last stage is truly tear-inducing. The person's body is still alive but you know the mind is gone.
I love Pat Summit. So sad.

I don't think he really did have to. Pat Summit's condition is brought up here from time to time and I don't recall a single trolling or negative post. I might have missed one, but the overwhelming response on the Rant has always been extremely respectful.

The real cruelty is their physical body can get much better at the mental loss. Had a friends mom pass about a decade ago after battling about 15 years. Mind was gone in the end, but until the very near end she was very fit and constantly walking.

Most of them have been respectful, but there have been quite a few classless and disrespectful posts made about Summitt. cajunbama has said some nasty things iirc.
Full disclosure: I made a tasteless joke in my "shortest book ever written" thread.

My heart is out to her family. This is a horrible desease.I'm very sad to see this happen to such a wonderful person.May God bless her...

It's sad this is happening to her. She was and is the best college basketball coach I have ever seen. Her records are unmatched.

As a Kentucky fan it is sad at what could have been if not for Cliff Hagen. She would have been setting all those basketball records at UK instead of UT.

I missed those. That sucks. Sucks that they happened, not that I was lucky enough to miss them.
As for your own indiscretion, I can probably guess the joke. I'm one of those people who thinks virtually no topic is too sacred to joke about, if only bitterly. So I don't judge you too much. I'd just say that there's a time and place for everything, and now is neither the time nor place for this particular subject. Pat Summit has earned that much, at least.

When she first started she literally did it all.
Coached.
Drove the team to away games in a van.
Washed the team uniforms (true story).
Built the program from nothing.
