Any chance Saban tries to replicate Pete Carroll's success in the NFL?

Is his ego big enough to try a 2nd time? Any chance he is gone at the end of next season?

I would be surprised if he doesnt give the NFL another attempt.

If the Dolphins team doctors/front offices aren't dumbasses, Brees signs with Miami and Saban is still there with at least one Super Bowl.

Saban beat the Patriots 21-0 with a substitute teacher in at QB.

No

Although they are the same age, Sabear knows he can't hang with Pete in the NFL. He'd be better to stay in the collegiate ranks

The year after Saban left, that same Dolphins team went 1-15. Can't remember who the head coach was though..........

Dude likes a challenge, and I'd bet you the money in my mattress, Saban is going to bed tonight thinking about this.

Is he gonna leave anytime soon? No.

But this will be selling point for teams trying to sell him on leaving next January.

The door just creaked opened a bit.

All i know is that Pete Carroll has 3 NC's(1 of which was vacated) and a Super Bowl ring. Pretty much in a league of his own

Sabans main strength, and what makes him a great coach, is recruiting high school kids. You don't recruit high school kids in the NFL.

Carroll has proved he is a better NFL coach, no doubt. But Saban destroys him when it comes to college coaching, 4 BCS titles, none vacated, with 2 different teams.

"Destroyed" is taking it too far. Much too far. He has been in 4 national championships, lost one and had to vacate one. So really he won three to Saban's four and their runs or dynasties were pretty similar

3 National Championship wins, 1 NC appearance + 1 Super Bowl win

>

4 National Championship wins, 3 with one team 1 with the other

while Carroll was a great recruiter, they really weren't and don't 'process' players in the Pac 10. He would regularly have recruiting classes of 15-20 players. Bringing in the full 25 year in and year out, then processing out those that don't reach full potiential is a hugh advantage that Carroll didn't take advantage of.

Fair enough.

No. He has been in 2 and I cannot believe you are giving him credit for 2003.
