Weather is not that bad most of the time when the Sugar Bowl takes place. I've just never understood an indoor stadium in New Orleans. Is there a chance that there could be money for a new outdoor stadium?

I bring this up because of the new stadium in Atlanta that looks to be the cream of the crop of stadiums in America.

Probably too much damage potential from hurricanes and would remove the largest evacuation site for the region, would it not?

If Katrina can't get a new stadium I don't know what will.

I really don't care what the stadium is like on the inside.

as long as it has beer and fake cheese nachos with fresh jalapenos at the condiments bar.

What? When was the last time you went to New Orleans in September?

Born and Raised in South Louisiana. Do you know how much it rains? Thunderstorms are more frequent than cool weather down here.

Well the Saints play in September when it is hot outside. Also pretty hard to find enough land in the downtown area to build another stadium. The Superdome has also undergone renovations since 2011 costing about $340 million.

Generally speaking, I'm opposed to outdoor stadiums anywhere in the South. The new Georgia Anus Dome is probably the best possible scenario.

Superdome is apart of the NOLA DNA.

cant replace it unless it HAD to be replaced. Im talking Astrodome level disrepair.

with the amount of money that place brings in, and the revenue NFL teams are producing now, I highly doubt the Superdome is ever replaced.

yall could make it better. the new scoreboards were much needed.

Zero chance of a new stadium right now. The city and state are struggling financially (no surprise) so a new stadium is a very low priority.

Between the frequent rain and extreme heat and humidity until mid-October, a dome is welcomed. The Superdome is dated but I find it perfectly adequate.

The fact that it's dated though is keeping them from having any shot at hosting the CFP title game.

If he'd been at the 1973 Sugar Bowl (last one at Tulane Stadium), he would know why.

Clearly I'm not up to par on the weather year round there. I've been to New Orleans 5 times but I know that is not enough to really grasp anything.

I brought this topic up because Baton Rouge is not that far from NOLA. Tiger Stadium is outdoors. Is there a huge difference in weather distance wise from NOLA to BR?

Have you ever seen some of the Sugar Bowls played in old Tulane Stadium? It was colder than a witch's tit in a brass bra. Hell, it even snowed in some of them. Pair that with the subtropical heat of La. September and the answer is a resounding "Hell, naw!" Nice thought though. I'm generally for football being played outside

Tiger Stadium does not host all of the different events that the Super Dome does.

That is an uninformed opinion.
