Within the first 5 games they play wisky, ole miss, and georgia. That's a tall task for any team replacing their starting QB, WR, and RB. Couple that with the pressure/expectations of playing for saban at Bama i could see them losing 1-2 of those games. If that happens, does alabama see their national championship hopes fade and just pack it up the rest of the year? We all know Bama and their fans only care when the natty is up for grabs (Utah, Okie)

I think there's a better chance Bama goes 8-4 than 11-1 this year

You mean folding like the ND in 2013 Orange bowl? No chance.

I'm thinking 10-3. 5 straight #1 classes will show when they reload, but I agree that you don't just immediately replace what was lost on offense

I think all of the SECW teams will have 2-3 losses, so I'm just lumping them in with the rest of us. Just a lot of really good teams with glaring weaknesses

Bama is likely to drop one of those first five games. We did last year too. I think we will be in the 10-2 range plus or minus a game depending on the QB play. Good chance that wins the West this year, especially if one of the two losses comes to a non- west team.

Yep. I'm playing it safe with predicting a 2-3 way tie for the SECW.

I think Ole Miss wins the tiebreaker if Swag can produce

I don't necessarily disagree with you on a loss or two but "folding", like the OP opined, is highly unlikely.

No doubt. The west should be even more brutal than last year, if that's possible. I don't see ANY west team with less than 2 losses. Right now, I'm predicting Bama to lose to UGA in Athens and then one of either arky or tamu to finish 10-2 and west champs with a shot at revenge in the Dome against the dawgs.

With the possible exception of Georgia the Tide should be favored for their first 5 games. Heck lets expand that to their first 8 and add the Aggies, Hawgs, and Vols. Mind you that is a fairly solid first 8 games and there is more then one of those that could trip Alabama up.

Why I don't think they will drop that many is that the SEC was fairly kind with the scheduling. Yes, they do play some good teams but you don't see the Tide stuck on the road on back to back weeks. If they have a bad game on the road they get to lick their wounds and play at home to bounce back quickly.

They also get to rest most of their players against Charleston Southern before playing Auburn.

11-1 to 9-3 is what I think we get from Bama this year. Anything lower then 9-3 can be considered underachieving with their talent.

Bama is more likely to win the NC than to finish outside the Top Ten.

Maybe closing in that enzdone and the renovations will do wonders, but I think LSU, Auburn, Florida, and UGA were much louder. The loyalty the ags have and the chants in unison are second to none, but I never had that "Holy shite I can't hear myself think" moment when I've gone

The only game in that stretch they have a realistic chance of losing is Georgia. They will beat Wisconsin and Ole Miss easily.

Bama's defense is built to stop the run and Wisconsin can't pass nearly well enough to beat them. I don't think any team has beaten Saban two times in a row since he has been at bama, and Ole Miss definitely won't be the first team to accomplish that feat

LSU, Les and JJ beat them in '10 and '11.

I don't know what Alabama will do, but I expect them to be a good team.

Alabama was down last year and still won the SEC, so I'm not sure where all this "SEC West" is so tough comes from.

Probably the toughest division in football sure, but when your bottom feeding Mississippi teams are making noise in the conference, it's because everyone else is down. LSU was down, Auburn was down, Alabama was down, and that made the Miss teams look better than they were.

It's not as if Ole Miss and Miss St actually rose to some higher standard to beat these teams, instead the other teams dropped down while they had a little bit of an up.

Neg away Ole Miss and Miss St fans, don't care.
