Don't know a ton about Character, but I remember Jackson being a top 50 recruit with a lot of talent. Were these guys just buried on the depth chart or is there another reason each of these guys are transferring?

Woah, Jackson? I remember a lot of people saying he might have been the best player in their 2016 class. What the heck happened there?

Neither would have make the two deep rotation. Character had a chance for playing time, but wasn't going to be a regular player anytime soon. That is the way College Football today.

Jackson was a beast in high school.

Edit: send him to Georgia. We'll take him for depth.

Actually according to many its Character who will be the bigger loss. He was getting work at all DB positions and could have been a starter next year.

Jackson on the other hand, has had anything but good reports coming out. Hates the weight room and is soft. There's actually a quote somewhere from Monty Adams where he says Jackson needs to get his shite together and learn to take some coaching. I personally have absolutely no idea. Really thought Brown and Jackson would be quite the duo on the DLine in the coming years, but looks like it's only Brown now.

Character was going to have to work hard to get any playing time next season. He might have been a starter by his Jr year, but that is if AU doesn't recruit any stud DBs the next two years.

We recruited Character pretty hard at the end once Champ got here.

I may be crazy, but this news is exciting. That tells me for the first time in a while, we have some legit depth on defense.

BS this is typical JABA to the extreme. We have 3 senior safties and nothing else behind them except Character. He had gotten nothing but good reviews and was set to be a 3 year starter after this year (and would have played a lot this year). Same thing for Jackson granted he won't ever be the man with Derrick Brown in the lineup but AU has good not great depth at DT and he was set to play a lot. This is the yearly exodus of players at important positions after signing day and before the season (literally the worst time for this to happen).

That sucks. He played at my old high school for a former baseball teammate.

Was actually hoping he would break the starting lineup and hear Grady get a shout-out.

AUC reporting that Character was "encouraged" to leave the program after a recent incident involving teammates. They have nothing on Jackson.

Just saw that. Wonder if it's related to Jackson though?

This is why recruiting rankings can be deceiving. Before you know it, many of the recruits that helped your recruiting rankings are already off the depth chart.

Never heard of him before, but with a name like that, he sure as hell doesn't belong at Auburn.
