First of all I was responding to the lsu fan. Second. I don't expect you to understandem because you are undoubtably oblivious of what's going on in the real world. Lousiana's new democratic governor said that they will shut down state funded scholarships if they cannot get the financial crisis in order. Pay attention. It's an election year.

If you read the link, you would see that:

The NCAA Board of Directors adopted a new enforcement structure effective August 1, 2013. The Board’s reasoning behind the new structure was that the belief that the financial reward for cheating and winning had severely outweighed the risk of getting caught and punished

But who has had Level 1 violations in that timeframe and received the full penalty you listed?

NCAA landscape has changed a lot since early 2000s. Greater risk now for the NCAA to not come down hard with all of the lawsuits; they're in court claiming that amateurism is real and must be upheld and the ole miss (and UNC) stuff undermines that

They must not give too much of a damn because UNC Basketball just skated out of violations. And that with their University's accreditation on the line at one point over fake classes. I doubt Louisville ends up with much more than they've self-imposed as well and those were Level 1 violations in that timeframe.

I'm just saying I'll see when I believe it. The NCAA is good at saying "Well we're gonna do this" and then it just quietly melts away.

you seriously sound like an idiot right now. leave that stuff to the people who actually live in louisiana and are used to deciphering the bs our historically corrupt government feeds to the public.

thanks.

Man I can't iterate how awesome it is to not have a dumpster fire for a football program.

Arky fans have had to endure too much scorching over the years. It's nice for it to not be us.

The way Bama and LSU recruit this is essentially the death penalty. Could still beat AnM but so what

The way anybody recruits, scholarship and signing restrictions are awful. I honestly don't know why they don't go that route more than post-season bans/erasing wins. Especially in football.

UK got really, really lucky hiring Rich Brooks when that all went down. We would've never seen another bowl game if we hadn't.

That would probably help LSU in football and not hurt them.

As far as I know, the NCAA hasn't passed any judgement on UNC yet. However, I suspect that's probably on purpose as they know they pretty much have to kill arguably the greatest college basketball program of all time according to the letter of their laws but don't really want to pull the trigger again after what happened to SMU.

Ole Miss doesn't really make the league money either. I mean, compared to:
Alabama
LSU
Florida
Tennessee
Georgia
Auburn...

OM is a drop in the bucket.

it sounds like you're the one who needs to pay attention considering what you're referencing and the information you're providing is antiquated.

USC got 10 scholarship reductions each year over 3 year and PSU got an initial 10 and then 20 each year until they reversed it.

They should get towards the lower end. I think Baylor will get a ban towards the upper.

I could actually see Texas getting some heat over former coaches Chris Vaughn (implicated in Ole Miss investigation) and Bo Davis (recently fired by Bama). Coupled with Charlie Stong's exploits both on and off the field at Louisville, something is eventually going to stick.

Did you know that 9 of the 13 violations came under Freeze's tenure, and that a lot of those were of the violation 1 variety? Looks like y'all are screwed.

Actually, it will be better off. It will give a spot to a school with a larger tv audience. More viewers = more money. Didn't the last Sugar Bowl have one of the lowest tv viewers in like 25 years?
