He will follow suit like the way John Pelphrey did? I feel a return to the natty next year with this crew again.

Will he recruit former basketball managers to get major playing time with the team? WTF, that should tell you all there is to know about how lazy the staff and Billy has gotten on the recruiting trail.

Donnie Jones may be looking for a job again soon as well, we can put the whole band back together.

I do feel bad for Grant, I'm surprised he hasn't been more successful. Who knows where his career would be right now if Donovan hadn't changed his mind on the Orlando job.

Sure. We were going to throw in Lance Thompson for you as well, but you waited too late.

You wouldn't have all those Elite 8's or 30 win seasons, I can guarantee you that.

Grant is a great man and a decent recruiter, but he's just not a very good head basketball coach.

Exactly. You'd think he would be at LSU, since that also describes Les Miles in football.

I was shocked at how poor the last 2 minutes of that game were called. There was really no set plays or anything. Just pass around and set soft back screens to a player coming to the ball.... Could have at least had back screens to try and get someone going toward the basket. Makes Coach Jones look like Coach K.

we have a coach that is substantially better at recruiting than Grant. His team is also aware of where the other team's basket is.

I wasn't comparing basketball coaches, just Grant to Miles.

I wanted Grant to succeed very badly, and held out even until this season before giving up.

well that's just ignorant considering Miles has 2 SEC titles and a national title to his resume' in the toughest football conference in America and Grant has one NCAA appearance and shite else in what has been a bad basketball conference during his tenure.

If Alabama had any other coach, Miles wouldn't get the same hate that he does. Saban is his kryptonite but he's better than all but maybe 5-6 coaches in college football right now.

For sure, although I do think Grant would have done much better here than he has at Bama. He has a lot of connections in Florida and having spent so much time here it would have been a pretty smooth transition.

Except for the fact that he just isn't a very good head basketball coach. His players would probably be better, so you would keep going to tournaments, but thats it.
