Noticed that an extremely small number of students at the Alabama - Kentucky game managed to make the news when they sat through the national anthem. I like this ESPN radio affiliates response to members of the East Carolina band taking a knee during the anthem.

Local ESPN radio refuses to broadcast next ECU game

Article says that 100% of the sponsors agreed with the decision.

Noticed that Saban plays it safe by keeping players off the field during the anthem. Can't say I blame any coach for taking that approach.

Feels as if most college teams are in the locker room during the national anthem

I've been hearing there're some racial issues in the Alabama locker room this year. Supposedly had something to do with the Barnett situation.

I don't think college teams are usually on the field during anthem.

I know Auburn has not been on the field for the anthem.

I think it is a TV thing. Anthem, then band forms AU for the team to run out, then kickoff.

Probably. I trust the coaches, obviously. But that doesn't mean the players didn't draw lines and pick sides based on other bullshite.

Most teams aren't on the field during the anthem anyway. So Saban isn't doing anything different than the norm.

If these people don't like the US they can leave. I hope they know that.

Yes, I have.

Doesn't mean it's true. But the allegation is that's why Barnett left in the middle of the season. There was a divide in the locker room about who should start and it was split along racial lines.

Where exactly would they go? You can't just show up another country and say, I think I want to live here, unless you've got a lot of money. How's a poor person supposed to just leave the country? I'd love an explanation.

And one of my favorite quotes of all time, is love your country like a parent lives their child, not like a child lives it's parent.

Criticizing the government and it's policies is actually about the most American thing you can do.

Have you been to Texas? Mexicans here have this down to an art form.

A poor person here would be rich in most nations of the world.

You can be critical and still respect the country at the same time.

If A&M ever allowed players to openly disrespect America, that would end my college football watching days
