Ironically your link gives me an error 404.
He's turned into a solid NFL lineman though, no doubt.

Fifth year options are not unusual, I think the key will be a second contract or FA.

Fluker struggled early on, but he turned into a really solid player up front. Chargers have had a multitude of injuries, so he had to change positions a bit.

He isn't a bust, but multiple other bama players are, since you brought it up and all

5th yr options are not given to players who are bust. The 5th year has a pretty big pay increase. Dre kirk got 9 million on his 5th year while the cowboys declined Mo Clairbornes 5th year for 11 million. He was cut and resigned for cheap.

He was resigned for only 3 million. More than half of the 1st rd picks from 2012 did not complete their 5th year.

I'm surprised Dre Kirkpatrick's 5th year option was picked up after he was arguably one of the absolute worst cornerbacks in the NFL, per ProFootballFocus. He was terrible in 2015.

Other than Richardson, we have no busts. It's all these fanbases envy of all things Bama that starts the false narrative.

Except he was.

ProFootballFocus is the best current way to measure how good a player is.
