Another astounding Alabama defensive statistic

Alabama's defense has only given up only 11 plays inside its own 10-yard-line the entire season. Actually coming into the SEC Championship Game, the Alabama defense had allowed only six plays inside their ten yard line. That's how dominant the Bama defense has been.

Meh, I'm not doubting the dominance but inside the 20 would probably be more telling. Too many scores happen from outside the 10 to really make it that worthy of a statistic.

That stat is almost as dominant as Alabama's obesity rate.

That's an amazing stat, but don't forget it's a double-edged sword. It implies Bama gives up more big plays than they should too.

We get it. Alabama has a solid D.

Well their D only gave up 14 TDs in 13 games (according to the stats somebody got a non-offensive TD on them too), so even if ALL of those were > 10 yards, 1.1 per game isn't exactly a crisis.
If I had to guess, I probably only wish the 2 teams I root for gave up double that.
