With Donovan headed to greener pastures in the NBA, Florida undoubtedly goes back to their historically mediocre ways in roundball. You could argue this leaves the SEC as a two team league for the time being as only Kentucky and Arkansas managed to end the season ranked in the top 25. Arkansas seems to be trending upward with the expected return of Portis and Qualls, while Kentucky's juggernaut recruiting will keep them at the top as far as we know. The SEC could be a vastly improved league next year with rising teams like Vandy and SCar. But who's your bet on becoming the third nationally top 25 team from the SEC next year and beyond?

I'm not JUST doing this for upvotes... but LSU seems to be improving leaps and bounds

If we are being honest, Billy likely won't go anywhere.
But as far as who will step up my guess would be Tennessee or LSU. Possibly Bama depending on who they hire. Those are the next 3 best programs if we're being honest, along with Mizzou (who looks to be fricked for the foreseeable future).
LSU has the issue of coaching, but they are recruiting better than just about anyone and we haven't yet seen how Barnes will do, but I could easily see him building a top 25 program here.

The last time Arkansas made a Sweet 16 Monica Lewinsky was still a White House employee

LSU or A&M. Everybody seems to forget that A&M is pulling a very good class for next season.
Vandy also looked very good to finish the season and should return a bulk of their players.

If you can recruit in CBB you can win a lot of games

We still have Kennedy as coach though :-(

Kennedy is just doing his Weekend at Bernie's. We all know Stansbury is the one doing the coaching.

Auburn will take Florida's place. If LSU gets somebody to coach the players they're getting they'll be really good too

I don't think some of you resize just how much Johnny Jones coached up Quarterman from last year. Quaterman could barely be counted on to dribble without turning it over last year.

Mickey didn't do shite for the amount of talent he had. Maybe Jones can coach the players, but he's a terrible gameday coach. He's the reason LSU lost to Auburn in the SEC tourney
