I was thinking of stats and which ones are important and which ones arent. Found this article from athlon, anything stand out to yall?

If you win the field position battle, you win the game 72 percent of the time.

• If you win the turnover battle, you win the game 73 percent of the time.

• If you finish drives better than your opponent, you win 75 percent of the time.

• If you are more efficient than your opponent, you win 83 percent of the time.

• If you are more explosive than your opponent, you win 86 percent of the time.

If your linemen cropdust their linemen more effectively you should win the most games.

If you have the REC and Tom Ritter, you have a big advantage.

I bookmarked. Thanks!

Got to thinking while reading this that it could very well be the late Coach Bryant talking or dictating to a writer.

And it's simple: a team has to have better players to win consistently. That includes between players' eyes.

Admittedly, this game was very fluky, and I don't intend to draw any conclusions from any single game. Indianapolis had a couple of very quick scores, including one on the first play from scrimmage

You should probably read the whole article. No conclusions were drawn from a single game.

Personally, I hate how they count QB passing yards.

Except for yours, in which you said that time of possession was the most overrated stat, and then linked that particular article, in which they say (and I quoted from), that it was a fluky game and that it shouldn't be used as definitive proof of the significant (or lack thereof) of time of possession.

Replace #3 with a drive efficiency metric like points per drive than I agree.

Jackie Sherrell used to say that the team that blocks a punt wins the game 90% of the time. He cheated so he probably made that up.
