Herbstreit, Corso, Mcshay, now Mike Golic. What are all of these "experts" seeing? LSU could have a very good season, but a playoff spot is unlikely IMO. Why all the picks for LSU?

Because an SEC team will make it and when analysts pick one of the Top 5 or 6 teams in the SEC, you have a good chance at your prediction coming true.

I personally don't think LSU makes it simply because I'm not sold on Harris and y'all have an extremely difficult schedule, but it'll play out and LSU will be in contention for sure.

To keep the interest of their listeners and to stir the pot. They all know it isn't happening, just like you and I

These analysts could substitute LSU with Auburn, Bama, or Georgia and nobody would think twice about it because any of those four teams could plausibly go to the playoff. LSU just happens to be the team that these few analysts picked.

So, you think analysts don't care about their picks actually panning out? Just want to be clear.

LSU has named their starting QB. That's rare around these parts lately.

Well they also picked A&M to go to the playoffs

So you should adjust your faith in them accordingly

It's almost like some suit at ESPN ran an analysis on who would stir up the most attention but is still somewhat believable. It spit out LSU and they sent a memo down for everyone to start spouting it off.

Desmond Howard is the only one I had heard, who else picked them?

LSU has Auburn at Home. Their east team are USC and Florida. Can lose a game and still get in.

Returning a great RB and a stout defense.

Auburn got some early love because of Muschamp, but folks wanted to find someone else besides Auburn or Bama. LSU > that other west teams.

Put aside your ill feelings towards LSU for a moment. These analysts are making educated picks based on loads of talent and potential along with the offense being able to complete a forward pass now.

This hasn't been demonstrated, only speculation has occurred. This statement is absurd as Auburn or A&M trying to aim their defenses are now top 25

Wait until you play a game

I find it hard to believe analysts are picking who they "want" to win over who they actually think will win.

At the end of the season, analysts want to have their picks actually be in the playoff.
