Florida State - They didn't look great against Houston, but they don't lose a lot. I think we have a decent shot with Kelly, but we're breaking in some new starters on the OL, so I'll say close L for now.

Wofford - Win

Alabama - Hard to beat the Tide three years in a row. I think we have a decent shot with all they're losing, but I'll be realistic and say Bama finally gets one. L

Georgia - Not convinced Kirby Smart will have this team primed for a run in his first season. Without an established quarterback and in Oxford, I think the Rebs get this one. W

Memphis - No Fuente? Check. No Paxton Lynch? Check. Freeze motivating the team with the "revenge" game stuff? Check. W

at Arkansas - Losing Allen, Collins, Williams, and Henry should be tough on them. We owe those guys one after this year. I'm going to go out on a limb and say road W, but this is a tossup IMO.

at LSU - I'll be honest. And this where I'm going to get the downvotes. I'm not convinced Les Miles is the guy for LSU. I think the talent is elite, but I think the offense is stale. Ole Miss knew what they were doing all night this year. Ole Miss historically plays well in Tiger Stadium. Another tossup, but I'm going to go W.

Auburn - John Franklin III is supposed to be the solution to all issues. He won't fix their defense. Getting Lawson back is huge though. Tigers give Rebs four full quarters, but Rebs pull out a close one.

Georgia Southern - W

@A&M - Who's the quarterback? Trevor Knight? I just don't trust them right now while Sumlin is looking for other opportunities and they don't have an established quarterback. W

@Vandy - Probably will be closer than it should be, but I think Ole Miss gets it done. W

MSU - Freeze owns Mullen. He'll continue to have his guys ready to play for this game. W

9-3 (6-2) repeat

Ole Miss loses 14 starters. It's gonna be a tough year although Kelly is probably the best returning SEC QB

Honestly, with what we lose, I wouldn't be shocked if we drop #3 to y'all.

Flip Florida State and either Ark/LSU and you are spot on. Winning in Tiger Stadium is just hard.

1. Clemson

Auburn will be breaking in a new QB and a new defense against the likely preseason #1 team. Gus always struggled early in the season. L

2. Arkansas State

First win of the year, although they usually put up a good fight against power 5 teams, just ask Mizzou. W

3. Texas A&M

Auburn blows out the Aggies in JHS. They are just a complete dumpster fire right now. A loss here would be devastating to the season. W

4. LSU

Auburn always plays LSU tough in JHS. We even almost beat them in 2012 at home. LSU will be very high rates and this game will go down to the wire. I give LSU the win because of our inexperience at QB. L

5. ULM

Easy W

6. @Mississippi State

Auburn will not lose to MSU three years in a row. We get our first road win in Starkville since 2010. W

7. Arkansas

Arkansas should be typical Arky although they are replacing a very good QB. It should be a tough game, but I give the edge to the Tigers here as Arky loses a lot. W

8. @Ole Miss

This will be a tough game on the road. Kelly is good and Ole Miss is a very talented team. I think this comes down to the wire and Auburn pulls out a win. W

9. Vandy

Vandy will have a good defense again next year, but they just don't have the talent to match Auburn. W

10. @UGA

Auburn needs to beat UGA for Gus to keep his job IMO. It won't be easy in Athens, but I don't see UGa being a good team next year. W

11. Alabama A&M

The only thing AAMU will win is the halftime show. W

12. @Alabama

This is the greatest rivalry in football. You never know in this game, but my guess is that Alabama will be playing their best ball at the end of the year. L

9-3 (6-2)

Auburn finishes top 3 in the west and Gus saves his job, but many fans will wonder what could have been if we pulled out a couple close games.

The game being in October favors LSU, IMO. Also we play southern miss the week before, yall play Arkansas. But I agree, it will be another tossup. Ole Miss is losing a lot of talent though.

If Chubb returns to 100%, UGA wins. If were forced to lean heavily on Eason or one of the other shitty QB’s on the roster, Ole Miss reenacts scenes from Jaws for 4 quarters.

The starters that we lose, other than the Big 3, played a lot of split roles with other players. Like Aaron Morris, Justin Bell, and Ben Still on the line. Yeah, we lose those "starters," but Robert Conyers, Javon Patterson, and Rod Taylor were playing the 1's before they got injured.

Losing Treadwell is definitely tough, but everyone forgets the talent we still have at wide receiver and how a blue-chipper didn't get to play last year (Demarkus Lodge) because Treadwell is too good to give up snaps.

On defense, we lose a few, but we keep Marquis Haynes, Fadol Brown, DJ Jones, Breeland Speaks, and get back Isaac Gross. We get back our leading tackler in Demarquis Gates at linebacker, and we add a JUCO guy and possibly Mique Juarez. We won't be great there.

The secondary is where we'll hurt the worst. We get back all of our corners, but we lose Hilton and Elston. Tony Conner is coming back for his senior year though which is huge. Future first round pick. Then, you have CJ Hampton playing a more prominent role in his junior year.

Overall, just because there's three big names coming off the board early, Ole Miss is expected to drop off a ton by rival fans. I'm sure by now most know Freeze will keep our offense going, especially with Kelly. The defense will be key, and most think we'll be deeper up front. Our back seven will have to step up though.

That's not an entirely accurate picture of what happening. Ole Miss is losing a bunch of important players for sure, but injuries and Suspensions forced Ole Miss to find replacements for many of those positions this year. Ole Miss won't return a single OL in most of the previews you read, but in practice, they're bringing back 30-40 starts on the OL.

USC - While I do believe they return a good portion of what was a solid team Saban has the team ready for these season opening games every year. W

W Kentucky - Lose their QB but return the entire oline and top two receivers from a great offense. They'll probably put up some points but should be a win by a comfortable margin. W

OM - Both teams are experiencing heavy losses. Alabama should have the motivational edge; hopefully the QB situation is settled by now this time around. W

Kent St - W

Kentucky - W

Arkansas - This game has tended to be close the past few years. Depends on whether Allen is effectively replaced. W

Tennessee - Likely the toughest opponent to this point. Lot of returning talent for UT. Looking at it from this far out I'm leaning toward them finally ending the streak. L

A&M - They'll probably have a pretty good defense but who's going to play QB? W

LSU - Could be a playoff contender depending on how Harris develops. Tends to be a bad matchup stylistically for them though. W

State - No Prescott. D could improve but won't be enough. W

Chattanooga - W

Auburn - Did they really hire Steele? QB situation still sucks. W

11-1 SECW winner again.

UCLA: Slight talent advantage and lots of prep time. We should be slight favorites but there's a good chance we lose as well. W

Prarie View A&M: System school takes a beat down from the mothership and takes their million dollars to the bank. W

@Auburn: Like an auburn poster said above, this will be a momentum defining game. I think the defenses will be the difference and I expect ours to be salty. I'd only give us a 55% chance though, and it may be more of a toss up. W

Arkansas: I think this will be one of the worst Arkansas offenses we've played against. They just lose too much. W

@South Carolina: We tie up our record at 1-1 against HC muschamp as he tries to build for the future. W

Tennessee: I think you all know where this is going. We're sitting at 5-0, and between 12 and 17 in the polls! We're finally doing it, right? Wrong. L

@Alabama: Oh god, it's happening again. Fire sumlin, rabble rabble. L

New Mexico State: The better Aggies win in a somewhat messy game, as we try to remember what happiness feels like. W

@Mississippi State: Dakless and sackless, the Bulldogs should be a bottom feeder. Not that we'll be a contender or anything, but you get the idea. W

Ole Miss: We lose, only to have the game asterisked 2 years later as the NCAA uncovers that Hugh freeze is a synthetic marijuana dealer. L*

UTSA: "Roadrunnerus Rapus" W

LSU: fuuuuuuuuck L

Total Record: 8-4(4-4)

Hubenak transfers after the season. Knight announces that, although he has no eligibility left, he would transfer if he did. Reveille runs away.

Exactly.

Aaron Morris - wasn't starting until Javon Patterson got banged up.

Justin Bell - wasn't starting until Rod Taylor did something stupid.

Ben Still - wasn't starting until Robert Conyers was out for the year.

We're really losing two consistent starters on the line, Tunsil and Cooper. G,C,G will be fine. And Rawlings returns and was a starter for 7 games at RT while Tunsil was out.

Walton - Splitting reps by the end of the year with Judd and Wilkins. Will be a bigger loss than expected though.

Treadwell - Huge loss, but doesn't hurt as bad with the crew we have behind him.

On defense:

Channing Ward - If anyone wants to argue he was a starter over Marquis Haynes and Fadol Brown, go ahead I guess.

Woodrow Hamilton - While he was a starter, Isaac Gross was plugged in to get at least equal reps before he got injured. Gross returns.

Denzel Nkemdiche - As shown in the LSU game, easily replaceable.

CJ Johnson, Mike Hilton, Trae Elston, and Robert Nkemdiche - Yeah, that's going to hurt. Insert Tony Conner, future first round pick.

I'd say in all reality, we're returning more than 8 in the two deep.

In the last three years? Maybe but its not like last year or the year before was that great. Defense will be the key.

Probably true. I have very high expectations for our defense though and I expect our offense to be mediocre at worst. I think it's a game we should win.
