Am I the only one who agrees with Pete Carrol's call?

They had just ran Marshawn on first down. Im sure Pats were expecting another run, and Pete thought he could catch the defense off-guard. 9 times out of 10 a pass on the 1 yard line is either incomplete or caught for a TD. If either of those scenarios happen, he is left with two plays and one time out.

3rd down I would have tried Marshawn again, and then if its unsuccessful call a time out and talk it over with your team on what to do for the last play.

if you're gonna throw, with a guy like Wilson who can run, why on earth do you not play-action it?

9/10 times the seahawks would score if they ran him twice.

Beast mode. 1 yard out. Pound the rock.

It's not hard, or at least it shouldn't be.

The Seahawks are built as a run first team and that is what they should've done.

this is my issue.

if you not gonna run, roll-out play-action.

they did probably the worst, least-safe call they could have.

And lost.

CB saw the stacked receivers and knew what was coming. Hence the break and INT.

Terrible call. Run Marshawn or even a play action pass

They would have had to stop Lynch 3 more times. Maybe, MAYBE, I would play action boot leg with Wilson on 4th down.

He is the biggest idiot to ever coach a game......after the play. If it had worked all the talking heads today would be talking about how it was the greatest call in Super Bowl history because the Patriots just knew they were about to run the ball and Carrol outfoxed them all.

They gave him the ball at the 1-yard line 5 times this season.

He scored once.

So, maybe not 9/10 times.

I had no problem with the play call. Just an amazing individual play by Butler, IMO.

I don't precisely agree with it, but the play itself was run just fine. Had the receiver been just a tad more aggressive going for the catch, he would have had it and his momentum/angle likely would have put him in the endzone. The interception was entirely preventable on that play. I blame the receiver far more than I blame Carroll or Wilson.

I didn't completely oppose the idea of a pass, but I wasn't a fan of the particular pass called. Roll-out or fade (even though I pretty much despise the fade at the goal line)

As for what I would have done, it would have been a handoff.

For a split second I thought Freeze must have called the play.

That's what I thought of it.

NE knew a bunch of times during the game he was getting it, and couldn't stop him, including his td run.

fricking ididot he is! Run on second, IF he fails, call timeout and then pass off play action on 3rd. TD or incomplete. Then 4th if needed.

I would have gone no huddle after 1st down being it was so close.

At minimum though, run play action pass/bootleg.
