You'd love the story from earlier this week a homeless dude killed another one because he wouldn't keep drinking.
A quote in the police report the accused said "anyone that stops drinking deserves to die!"
Homeless fricks up here are going crazy this year. There's been a couple bum on bum killings.
They shanty town land has been bought and is being cleared so they're having to be out in society and not just pilfering half empty beer bottles from the bar dumpsters late at night.

While back some homeless guy here killed a homeless woman because she was wearing the "wrong color clothes". He stabbed her a few dozen times. When he went to court this is what happened:
Pled not guilty
Changed plea to guilty
Fired his lawyer claiming he got bad advice, changed back to not guilty
Changed plea to guilty: "yeah I killed her and I'd do it 1,000 times again if I had to. I stabbed her until i couldn't lift my arm anymore"
Sentenced to death, state automatically appeals
Takes the government to court because he doesn't want an appeal, wants to die ASAP

Its an area of woods, not on campus, but right next door. I think its actually owned by the city but leased by the UA.

You will STILL have these bleeding heart fricks who won't stop doing what they do, providing all means of services and goods to these homeless people, without any strings, mental health services, or anything positive.
So far it has just been bum on bum violence.
The city cleared out some of the trees and undergrowth last year to discourage them from camping. Our city government is cravenly liberal, so there probably won't be a real solution until some regular person is injured or killed. Even then, there will be hippies who demand justice for the homeless, etc.

I really wish that area would become a city park. It's super nice w/ all those trees and all of the fast food spots along 6th. It's on the greenway and would make for another good tailgate spot because that whole lot north of the old Premium Brands building is pretty flat. It'd be such a nice place for a pond with benches and chill spots for studying or feeling up a co-ed like what Oklahoma St. has with Theta Pond.
That scummy area is going to be interesting when the Neighborhood Market gets built. I think revitilization is good down there, maybe all the bums will pack it up to Springdale.
