With so much on the line in an insanely good west, we are about to begin the big stretch beginning this weekend. Show me what you got. Prove you know your damn football. I want to know who wins below and why. Added bonus, a score prediction if you got the balls.
Alabama @ LSU
Death Valley on a Saturday night. A place few dare to be bold in predicting a win over our neighbors to the east. They don't call it death valley for nothing.

24-20 Tigers.
Cooper lets one deflect off his hands for interception to seal it.

I think Bama has a 26-9 record in Death Valley. Maybe other teams fear Death Valley, but Bama doesn't.

Guessing right doesn't prove shite.

This game will be a sloppy shite show. Both sides will be stagnant on offense, both defenses will look like world beaters. Turnovers and field position will decide the game.
LSU will take the lead early, only to give it up in the second quarter. No one scores in the 3rd and the lead is switched back to LSU with 4 minutes left in the game.
Alabama drives the length of the field and is picked off in the endzone.
LSU wins 17-13

Well, I think LSU should win the game, being at home.
Maybe that's just biased or naive, but it's how I feel.
These teams are more evenly-matched than people are saying. Alabama is good, not great. LSU is good, not great. Home field matters so much. And not just because of the "Death Valley" crap, but because it's college football.
Home field matters everywhere. Look around the country... How many high-profile matchups have the away team won this college football season? Auburn @ Ole Miss? TCU @ WVU? Auburn @ K-State if you want to count that one? Idk, not that many.
I think both teams have their flaws. People say LSU "can't throw the ball." However, it's not as black and white as that. Jennings can make throws. If he rolls out and has man coverage (which is what everyone plays against us), he can make some throws. And some good ones. Alabama is going to get after the quarterback. If we roll Jennings out and get some one-on-one comeback routes (Jennings throws these pretty well), we should be in good shape to have 10-12 completions. And that's really all we're looking for.
Alabama hasn't run the ball in between the tackles as well as they have in the past. However, they'll run pretty well in this game. Maybe not consistently, but they'll get some chunks which is all they need. Sims' ability to run the ball in this game scares me a lot more than his ability to throw it. He's a pretty decent player, but you can't convince me that Amari Cooper isn't the major reasoning for that. LSU has a good secondary that plays with great instinct and anticipation. Alabama may be able to use that against us if they can get some misdirection plays to Cooper (similar to the one they ran against Tennessee for the long TD). However, you have to believe LSU will be ready for those. The key here is avoiding "the big one" to Cooper.
As for LSU running the ball, I find it hard to believe that the running game will just be shut down completely. I know Alabama is a more difficult match-up for us in the trenches because of their size (as compared to Ole Miss), but LSU really does have a very good offensive line. Especially on the left side. I feel like LSU will run the ball for over 100 yards. Maybe around 150. I mean, we're gonna run it 45-50 times, so we're gonna get our yards no matter how well Alabama plays defensively.
I think LSU's defense is good. I haven't been overly impressed with Alabama's offense in any game this season. I don't know how much stock you can put into the aTm game against that defense. They did look good offensively against a pretty good Florida defense, so I'll give them that.
I feel like LSU plays one of their best games of the season every year against Alabama (our Super Bowl), and I think that'll happen again on Saturday. And, the way I see it, if LSU plays one of their best games of the year, at home, they'll be hard to beat. I think Alabama is going to have to bring their A-game to win this one.
It'll be a little higher scoring than people are anticipating. Call it a homer pick if you'd like, but I'd like to think I'm one of the least biased LSU fans on this site.
LSU 23
Alabama 17

remaster916 you can't use old material buddy boy. In the last 12-15 years it's been different. Not to mention Lsu has beat Bama at your place a few times recently. Old shite from 40 years ago means poo
