Fans saying "good riddance", "now we can get a guy that can recruit", "it was time for him to go".
I'm truly ashamed to be an LSu fan right now with all these idiotic comments. We lost one of the best coordinators, we might replace him with someone just as good or we might not. But don't say stupid things like above.

Both sides have valid points
1. He is a good DC
2. He sucks at generating pressure, stopping critical 3rd downs, and defending the 2 minute offense

Disagree. I've been saying it for a long time, though. Unlike others, I've wanted him gone for a long time. Even when it wasn't cool at all to say it. Took a lot of heat. Like I'm saying, give it 2 years.

He is one of the best if not the best DC in CFB. I know you are trying to be optimistic and its possible you hire the next big name.
His defense is responsible for most of your success because god knows it sure as hell wasn't your offense.
Still, losing Chavis is not a plus anyway you look at it.

I'm not saying he is the best defensive coach around, but to say he sucks just because he no longer coaches at LSU is rediculous.

its going to hard to replace Chief, at times the D
was amazing but we always had the 2 min shite the bed game (bama) this yr. i think he can turn A&M around but look what he
inherits a defense that ranked 102nd nationally in total defense, and the secondary is awful. the
safeties take on a much larger role in his defense as they are expected to play both soft coverage and in some spread situations. might take a yr or 2
