I'm not gathering much from this. What should I infer?

Two observations...

1) I would assume that the NCAA is going to do a deep dive on every program that had a coach caught up in the FBI sting.

2) Judging by the other tweets on his account, that is a surprisingly liberal leaning reporter to be working in the state of Alabama.

Exactly what the headline says. There was no prior confirmation that the NCAA was involved yet

I assume the NCAA is involved, but I'm not seeing anything in that tweet that says they are.

VERY liberal. There are a couple of liberal reporters there.

The Montgomery Advertiser fired him. He was their best reporter by far.

Oh no, how will we survive without a successful basketball team. Help, help.

I should have been more specific. My bad. There is a grand jury investigation into NCAA violations. Not an NCAA investigation into violations.

I mean is anyone surprised? Our top assistant coach was arrested by the FBI

Of course there is an NCAA Investigation over this issue. The NCAA has egg on its face because they ignored the issue for years. Many schools are involved , including Bama.

Josh Moon wrote it, so very little if anything of value.

I think the way the indictment read, NCAA violations occurring was part of what provided the feds with jurisdiction and made some of the actions allegedly criminal. This looks like a gj subpoena to garner evidence to support the allegations.

I don't think this is the major development you were looking for.

So you thought the NCAA would not get involved?

I never said it was a major development, just a development
