Alabama doesn't have the most explosive offense in college football, but it has been one of the more efficient ones since Saban arrived in Tuscaloosa. That 2012 offense was probably the most efficient in program history. You had two 1,000-yard backs, a 1,000-yard receiver, and a QB who threw for 30 TDs while only throwing 3 interceptions.

You run the ball very well, Hurts has grown into an efficient passer (though if Arkansas had success bringing the blitz then other teams will so your OC needs to work on that), and you have one of the best WR groups out there.
If anything I wonder if Saban wishes your offense wasn't quite as good so your scoring drives would take more time off the clock.

SEC quit on you and now you go to championship games untested

Imagine how good that 2012 team would have been without Nuss's handcuffs. Dude is terrible.

Is this a haiku thread?

I just don't see the jaw-dropping QB out there to beat us. Mayfield is good, but it's unknown if they'll even make the playoffs. The rest? Meh. Bryant is no Watson. Penn State has an even-keel offense, but don't think they match up well.
If we're able to win games with just the running game and sparse passing and not get into a shootout, I think we're good.

Bama has played one decent defense in FSU and otherwise some of the worst defenses in the country. Let's see what that number is at the end of the season.
Hint: it will be lower. Possibly a lot lower.

Who the hell is good enough to beat Bama?

Wonder why your posting the same post that was posted on the score board last night.
The good news is we will make the playoff again for the third straight year while your team sits at home. Just wondering who do you think will win it. Clemson? Who could barely beat auburn and got beat by a below average Syracuse squad, Oklahoma who got beat by Iowa State, or Ohio State who got beat by a over rated Oklahoma school. Lol

I don't see this heir of invincibility others do. I am a Hurts supporter and he should be starter but he was not impressive for a large stretch of Arkansas game. OL was partially to blame and that's my disappointment.

We definitely need work in the passing game. Hurts holds the ball too long and isn't going through his progressions. He does hit the short stuff and he doesn't miss the long stuff if the receiver is wide open.
With that said, our running game is elite as frick and Hurts is dangerous on designed runs and read options. If the receivers are covered he is capable of picking up first downs or taking it to the house. If he ever becomes just a slightly above average passer down field you can hang it up because you just won't be able to slow us down. He is good enough to win it all and almost did last year.
If the coaches gameplan properly around his weakness then we probably win another one this year. High percentage throws and pound you with 5 star running backs. A winning formula imo.

That's not true. A truly efficient offense would have a high TD% inside the red zone. Bama has ranked in the top 25 in red zone TD% twice in the last nine years. In fact, they've ranked well outside the top 40 in most years.
Red Zone TD% rankings
2008- 69th
2009- 107th!
2010- 46th!
2011- 91st!
2012- 9th
2013- 47th
2014- 17th
2015- 90th!
2016- 64th
2017- 31st
A truly efficient offense was 2008 Florida. Their red zone offense was a big reason why they were so dominant. Their defense would create a ton of turnovers and put the offense in good field position and the Gators offense were incredible converting those red zone opportunities into TDs.

You have a boner for offenses who put up video game numbers.

Case in point. Your idea of a "truly efficient offense" happens to be one of the greatest offenses in the history of the Southeastern Conference. Well no shite, Sherlock!
This is why no one takes you seriously.

You aren’t lying. Nuss is a terrible OC.

You completely ignored my post, genius. I explained why Bama's offenses aren't efficient. They aren't very good scoring TDs inside the red zone. I could have used 2011 LSU as another example. They were very limited offensively but they were extremely efficient. They ranked 11th in red zone TD%. When one of those defenders created a turnover and gave them great field position, they converted those opportunities into TDs. Alabama has not done that very well outside of 2012 and 2014.

Alabama is 4th in the SEC and 23rd nationally at scoring Red-Zone TDs against Power 5 teams at a clip of 71.4%. If you remove the 3 kneel downs at the 1 yard line vs Vanderbilt from the equation we are at 76.0%.
And that includes multiple run the clock out possessions and even 1 or 2 possessions where we literally took knees late in the game inside the 20.
We are in no shape or form "not very good" at scoring TDs in the red zone. That's just silly.

It's very easy to ignore your posts when your idea of efficiency is a team like the '08 Gators. Did you know that '93 Florida State and '95 Nebraska were very efficient offenses as well? If only our offenses could be more like them, huh?!
There is more to offense than red zone efficiency. If you are using it as the end all-be all. That's another reason why I ignored your post. You only respect offenses that put up 500 yards and 50 points per game. Anything less and the offense is a problem in your eyes.

Fourth straight year. Would be 3rd straight championship game if we win the semi.
