Alabama QBs in the NFL

The first 3 Super Bowls were won by Bama QBs and then there was a long period where the tide just didn't have elite QB play. I like AJ's chances of becoming an NFL starter one day. Of course, I also think Greg will be effective. He doesn't have the arm that McCarron has, but his football IQ is through the roof and he'll not make any (or, at least not many) of the boneheaded decisions that Sanchez has made this year.

When was the last high caliber QB that Bama recruited

We were going after the top QB in this class, Max Browne.

No, they should've played him in that blowout loss to the Pats. Instead, they dressed an injured Tebow and never put him in the game IIRC.

And we were after the top two in last class. AJ was a top 10, and Philip Sims was the top QB in his class.

Bulldog you hit the nail on the head. Trenches is where it is won and lost in college. If you have a guy at QB that does not get you beat and can make a few plays you can win at the college level. I like to see players go on and play in the NFL but I could really give a rip if anyone ever gets drafted. Coaches are there to graduate players and win games. If they go and have great NFL careers that is gravy.
