The Alabama vs. Clemson game will mark the 50th 1v2 matchup since the AP poll began in 1936.

Alabama will be playing in their 10th 1v2 game, the most all time (Alabama and Notre Dame are currently tied for the most with 9)

After Monday Alabama will have played in 7 of the last 10 #1 vs. #2 games.

Alabama is 6-3 in #1 vs. #2 games (1-1 as #1, and 5-2 as #2)

LSU is 2-1 all-time in top 2 matchups.

ETA: 3-1 if you count the 2003 national championship game vs. Oklahoma. But technically, that wasn't 1 vs. 2 in either the AP or coaches poll (Southern Cal was #1 in both going into the title game.

Naw it should be 9 after Clemson. You don't get to count do overs as 2 separate games

Well that's weird. I assume you'll do something nasty to it, being an Auburn fan. Seems like a waste.

Maybe. But I got to use TITS in an acronym, so we can agree as red blooded anericans that is what is most important

that and wifey is a bama alum and the FIL is a big donor. Plus I have a man crush on Reggie Ragland bc he is 'football'.. Plus I've enjoyed watching bama play this year.
So shoot me

Notre Dame should have never have been ranked so highly. What is their record 1v2?

We CFB fans have it good with #1 & #2 playing so much these days. This wasn't always so, which makes me wonder how many times #1 & #2 met before the BCS era. I believe the BCS started with #2 Bama -vs- #1 Miami in the 1992 Sugar Bowl.

#1 -vs- #2 before 1992 ?????
#1 -vs- #2 after 1992 ??????

Bama playing in 20% of #1 -vs- #2 match-ups is one heck of an accomplishment historically. Plus, at season end, more than not, Bama has had to take #1 away and I like Bama at that #2 position.
