Ok, I for one am tired of all of the "If it wasnt for Bama kicker missing field goals" or "If we had a better kicker" excuse. It seems like one of these comments always show up in a LSU beat Bama thread (Not ALL of them, just a lot of ones that I have read) so I did a little research.

IF BAMA would have had an NFL KICKER their chances would have improved but however not solidified a Win at BDS. Here is what I found:

Foster missed a 44 yard FG and Shelley had a 49 yard attempt BLOCKED (A stat that seems to be left out A LOT). Even if it wouldnt have been blocked, NFL Kickers are 147 of 196 for a 75% Field goal percentage. Ranging anywhere from 8-9 to 0-1. Maybe if a Janikowski, Carpenter, or Folk played for you then you PROBABLY would have won......... If you had Gano, Akers (40-49yds only), or Prater you STILL WOULD HAVE PROBABLY LOST!!!

Foster missed a 50 and 52 yard field goal. Once again..... NFL Kickers are 68 of 102 for a 67% (rounded up) Field Goal percentage. So, if you had Dawson, Janikowski, and Akers (6-6, 50+) you would have INCREASED your chanches but not solidified a win or if you had Cundiff, Mare, or Novak odds are that you STILL LOOSE!!

**DISCLAIMER** I was in a hurry doing this at work, so I added up all of the numbers in a hurry.....might be a little bit off. But hey..... this is the rant and I am sure someone will be happy to point out the error for me!! TIA!

2011 NFL Kicking Stats

LSU vs Bama PBP I used the PBP to get yardage on missed and blocked FG's.

This being said.......Bring on BAMA or OKIE STATE in the BCSNCG!!!

Here is to winning the SEC Chamoionship Game on Saturday against the Dawgs!!

Geaux Tigers!!

Are there any NFL stats to support Ruben Randle's dropped TD in that game, or the 1st and goal from the 1 yard line that LSU failed to convert?

Or heck, maybe even the TD pass to Kenny Bell that was bobbled and then knocked away?

Or the stats on Kenny Bell's dropped pass in the endzone. Or the stats on Darius Hanks running the wrong route on the Reid interception, which allowed Reid to be in position for the play?

Alabama and LSU played a pretty even matched team. However, it seems most rantards seem to think LSU ran Bama out of the building.

I think it was a dead even game but seems most of the national pundits bring up the Bama missed FGs but fail to mention LSU's missed opportunities.

I didnt recall Kenny Bell dropping a pass in the endzone (selective memory I guess).

So what you're saying is that the odds were greatly in our favor for making at least one and probably two of the four. Thanks, that's what I had thought, but your stats confirm that.

Foster did a fair job last year on long kicks. He missed some and he made some. Unfortunately, he and Shelley went 0-4 on long kicks that day.

It was #11 Brandon Gibson that ran Ried to the play. Gary Danielson pointed it out immedietely and again during the replay, but dont tell the LSU faithful. They are convnced that Ried read the play from 53 yrds away then shot across the field like a bolt of lightning, delivered a bone crunching hit on the TE jarring the ball loose, then had the where abouts to gain possession before it touched the ground.

For the record, the official made the right call on the play.

What? Claiborne swatted that bitch down before bell touched it.

Randle bobbled one though at the end of the half that should have been caught.

If you were watching it on TV you wouldn't have know it because Gary was going on and on how it was a bad throw and how Bell did a great job to keep it from being intercepted. The problem was he got BOTH hand on it, bobbled it, and finally had it knocked away. That's almost a TD pass, not almost an INT. Gary is an idiot.

Haha you so butthurt still. The WR allowed Reid to turn and when he did he saw mike Williams sprinting down Reid left his man and took Williams.

Let's forget that our defense forced an under thrown ball by maze.

Give credit where it's due
