Hmmm....well if Bama's RBs are so elite maybe you care to explain these stats:

ALL-TIME SEC RUSHING LEADERS

Rk_Player____Yds__Team
1__Walker____5259 Georgia
2__McFadden_4590 Arkansas
3__Faulk_____4557 LSU
4__Jackson___4303 Auburn
5__Rhett_____4163 Florida
6__Hilliard____4050 LSU
7__Alexander_4035 LSU
8__Dixon____3994 Miss St
9__Smith____3928 Florida
10_Collins____3835 Kentucky

Not one Alabama RB in the SEC Top 10. Not even one. Also, note that Fournette needs only 622 yards to put him at 3,995 good for 8th place. Say, you know that would give LSU 4 of the top 8 all-time SEC rushers.

Not one Alabama RB in the SEC Top 10. Not even one.

What if I told you that all ten players you have listed above played all 4 years of college football?

Alabama RBs are so fricking good they leave for the NFL early.

Is there more coming in this statement?

You would be incorrect. Also, it would not change the fact that there are no Bama guys on that list. Finally, Bama's RBs have not done any better in the NFL than the other schools who actually have RBs on that list.

As long as we aren't talking about fantasy team points once they go to the NFL...then sure.

The Criteria: Starting in 2010

Wow a whole 5 year sample size!!!

quote:

how many first- and second-round NFL Draft picks a college produced,

completely irrelevant when it comes to how good they were in college.

quote:

how many running backs from a school rushed for more than 1,700 yards in a college season

why 1700?

quote:

how many running backs from a school had more than 1,200 yards rushing in an NFL season

100% irrelevant when talking abotu how good a college is with these players

quote:

Heisman Voting, NFL MVP winners, All-Pro selections, Pro Bowls and pure subjective opinion.

Valid, irrelevant, irrelevant, irrelevant, subjective.

So basically this is about "NFL RBs from which school have done the best as pros". Doesn't mean shite as it relates to college. And yes, I would say all this even if UGA was #1 on this list.

I believe they are referring to the fact that every LSU starting RB going back some insane number of years has at the very least played in the NFL. There was an article on it awhile back that was linked in here somewhere. Google it if interested.

I personally think Georgia has a better case for RBU than Bama if the criteria is "did stuff in the NFL."

I wonder why as well. Aside from Henry's total just last year, Bama has never had a RB go for 1700+

Other than Trent, who are the true "busts" in the NFL from Bama?

It would be easier to name the 5*s that have been successful in the NFL than name all the 5*s that never amounted to anything under him.

Rushing attempts for the Top 13 SEC RBs of all-time:

Hershel Walker: 994
Darren McFadden: 785
Kevin Faulk: 856
Bo Jackson: 650
Eric Rhett: 873
Dalton Hilliard: 882
Charles Alexander: 855
Anthony Dixon: 910
Emmitt Smith: 700
Sonny Collins: 777
Carnell Williams: 741
Alex Collins: 665
Derrick Henry: 602

Give Henry another 392 carries and he'd be the #1 rusher in SEC history. He carried it 395 times last year so if he repeated that year, minus 3 carries at 5.6 ypc, he would finish with 5,795 yards.

The games are longer and there are more games than when half those played.

You're right. It was just a wild guess.

However, look at my post above regarding rushing attempts for the Top 10. It's a lot easier to rush for more yards when you carry it way more than anyone else.

Rushing attempts are rushing attempts. It doesn't matter how many games they did it in.
