Alabama has signed 11 4* & 5* Defensive Backs in the last 4 years.

And not a one of them can cover a white kid.. 
This has been my #1 complaint about Saban. For him to personally coach the DBs they always seem to be our weak link in the defense..
Our Defensive line has greatly improved over the last few years.. Now we have to get the backfield to catch up.

I personally suspect it is partly due to the way the whole team wants to hyper aggressively play the run and all of the man defense they play. If you are playing a team with good route runners, a great QB, and a line that gives a little time, it makes it really hard on any DB to go 1 on 1.

Sounds silly, but those corners haven't faced that level of quarterback/WR play at all this year, and many of them haven't played a good QB since last year's title game. Watson was putting the ball in places only his receivers could get it, and they made fantastic catches. It wasn't like their receivers were running wide open.
