I agree that they were not "real" country but nobody that came out of Bama ever was. Hank Jr., Emmylou, etc. But yes I agree, when I wanted to listen to country I looked towards Tennessee or Texas.
But those 31 number one songs in the United state's. The Beatles had 20. Hard to over rate that.
