Shouldn't have taken this long to start with.

Glad he can go where he wants.

Glad his sweet little precious feelings are more important than rules established by the conference.

Nick Saban would lobby for that rule to be changed if the roles were swapped.

Kind of like he did when Auburn returned the Kick 6.

It's almost like maybe there shouldn't be rules on grad transfers in the first place

Yes, how awful that students that want to leave a given team will work their asses off to graduate in 3 years (thereby positively contributing to the APR of Alabama) so they can pursue graduate coursework at another university

Damn. Disappointed in Saban. If you are going to entrench yourself this deep in a pissing battle, you better win. This makes no sense at all. The only way this becomes a PR disaster is if Saban gives in after 2 weeks of saying no. Now it looks like Saban is a dick and a pussy at the same time.

My guess is the Smith family has been rather vocal around Houston football circles and it is starting to negatively impact Bama in east Texas recruiting.
Better to just let the kid go to UGA than lose footing against A&M and LSU in that area.

What rule did Saban want changed regarding a kick 6? The only thing I remember he complained about were the missed calls in that game and last year's OM game with QB fake run/passes with lineman way down field illegally.

The only way any of this makes sense is if Saban already knows that the SEC will deny the waiver request.

Otherwise it is just UA slamming its dick in the door for no reason.

Wait, there's a rule that says grad transfers can be blocked? That's ridiculous.

Any transfer rule is stupid imo but this one is incredibly dumb.
