Former Miss State / A&M coach and Alabama player Jackie Sherrill interview about playing for Bear Bryant, what he learned and his recruitment (Funny). He discusses Nick Sabam and Stoops etc. Good listen.

Nice thread. Few people will listen to it because of it's length, but it contains a ton of truthful insight into college football during that time. I've heard most of Coach Sherrill's stories from other former players and coaches before so I know they're accurate. I know a number of former Bryant players and they've got stories that'll keep you laughing...some of his asst. coaches were very colorful, too!

Thanks bro. I was always a fan of Jackie. I was just becoming a football fan when he was coach at MSU. I really admired the old school guys. Jackie, Gene and Pat come to mind.

Good morning. Yeah thought you guys might like that.

I remember some years back in another interview with Jackie as he recalled a moment during a game. He said he walked up to Bear Bryant and said "Coach, I can make that play." And Bryant looked at him and said "Then get your arse in there." Lol
