Will the Bengals trade him after the playoffs or keep him and make him the starter?

Hopefully they will let a team have him that needs a QB. I would like to see him have a shot to develop as a QB in the NFL.

Only if they're incredibly stupid.

He's shown that he's at the worst a highly capable backup. Just take a look around the league at what usually happens when the starter goes down. Dallas is a prime example. With Romo or even a competent backup, they almost certainly win that crappy division.

If the Bengals were a 8-8 team needing a final piece to take the next step, it might make sense but they're a complete team and McCarron's a part of that package.

Why would the Bengals make AJ the starter over Red Rifle?

won't likely trade him. he's "cheap" (around $500K/year) for the next two years. That's a steal for a quality backup, which is what he's proven he is at minimum.

Should he win the game this weekend - doing something Dalton has never done - then they'll keep him around to pressure Andy, who has a very club friendly contract and he can be dropped in favor of AJ after the 2016 season if Dalton doesn't produce at the same level he produced this year pre-injury.
