Will make 100k over 3 years playing 2 weeks a summer. This is how we pay without getting caught

He's still playing football for us but he can't play college baseball.

I can't believe the Network is doing this while the NCAA is investigating. We are literally taunting the NCAA and the most Elite Dawg fans with our new methodologies in cheating. Why sell a car when you can "loan" a car. Why pay a player when he can "get paid by an MLB team". Freeze can't be saved.

He actually got that much from the Padres? Wow... Aj is a great football player, but hardly worth anything close to that in baseball

I thought at one time he was talked about as a top 5 round pick in the MLB draft until he made it known he was playing college ball. I may have him confused with another kid but I thought it was him. There was lots of talk his JR year about him possibly not playing college ball

I was going off of what I heard, so I could be way off. Deserved or not, he got it... Not a bad start to life for an 18 year old

He's not going to become a millionaire playing baseball.

He's going to be taken in the 1st round of the 2019 NFL draft and catch TDs on Sunday.

Man, the NCAA must have Freeze scared. In the past, they would have just matched the MLB contract.

I suggested the mlb minor league contracts as a work around about 5-6 years ago in " how would you cheat" thread.

Have a team draft a guy late like 35th round. They sign him, put him in rookie ball for a month each summer. A booster buys "season tickets" to reimburse the MLB club and then some.

It's all legal by NCAA bylaw

It's a pretty brilliant loophole.

I don't see it. Why would a gm of an MLB team risk his job over something like that?

because you love your alma mater and the boosters are paying for the salary + fees on top + who doesn't love money and adding some extra profit to your team's bottom line.

Also it would legitimately drive interest in your team from fans of the schools the football players play at.

I wonder if any MLB owners are supporters of a particular college? There would be many different possibilities there. Example: Sign one player for a big bonus, then let that kid take care of his teammates.
