Tenn pitcher pitched a hell of a game. Gave them a chance.

DIdn't get to see it because it was a day game, but holy hell is sounded like one hell of a pitcher's duel.

UT has lost quite a few games, but it seems like they're always in it.

Aggies are arguably the hottest team in NCAA right now

They are a dark horse for a national seed

What?

We just lost to UTA. We'd basically have to run the table in conference to get a national seed.

Can anyone shed some light on why after already throwing 100+ pitches, and Shewmake taking him deep his previous AB, did the Vols coach let their starter face Shew again to lead off the Aggie 9th? Is their bullpen that bad?

Their starter had pitched a great game, still had a very reasonable pitch count, and we were in the heart of our order. I think he thought the starter was their best chance of getting to the middle part of our order unscathed, and he would have brought the relief in in the 10th. I think it was the right thing to do, actually. Dude had been great.

Looks to me like the Coach had an ego thing about proving his guy could out duel Shewmake and once again he couldn't.

Should have pitched a guy Shewmake hadn't already faced multiple times.

But I'm not complaining. We won!

He's earned the right to finish it off is my guess. Bullpen is okay but probably didn't want to use it at all if he didn't have to in game 1.

Easy to second guess now, but I would have no issue riding out your Friday night guy if you don't have a lockdown closer.

No national seed for A&M. Maybe, a very slight maybe get to host a regional if we stay hot.

But we are going to be one of those teams who nobody wants to see in their regional.

We're going to need to get ~17 or 18 conference wins and an RPI in the top 20.

We will go to someone else's regional and be a 2 that will be a tough draw for a 1.

I don't see us hosting.

Ags take a 2-1 lead.

We only scored 1 in the first after having the bases loaded w/ no outs. Just pushed one more across with runners on 2nd and 3rd with 0 outs.

And fuuuuuuck. Davis just got pegged in the knee.
