Aggies, how would you feel about UH joining the B12?

Would you be at all worried about Houston taking off, eating some of your territory and stealing some of your recruits?
I ask because it sounds like Boren's top two B12 expansion candidates are UH and Cinci. If they choose UH they must think UH will somewhat neutralize A&M's SEC presence. Is this crazy stupid, or does it have some merit?
Corn dogs feel free to chime in as well.

more power to them.
at the end of the day UH does nothing to expand the footprint of the Big 12. Looks like they didn't learn anything from the small geography of the SWC.

Do they have to give them their coach back? If so, they might be in favor of it.

Houston is already out recruiting Texas A&M in the state
This will put A&M as the 5th best Texas team
TCU
Baylor
Texas
Houston
A&M

Not one bit. UH is a commuter school with so-so facilities and coaching positions that are just stepping stones to elsewhere. It will certainly help their program but it wouldn't really threaten us outside of a few recruits a year.
If anything this Aggie would like that move as it puts one more anchor around the neck of the Big 12 and Texas. That will cut down the respect of the league (SWC 2.0!) while simultaneously make the league harder to abandon politically. I'll take it.
One thing to note though- Boren doesn't usually get his expansion choices. Texas dislikes Houston for some reason so I can see them getting someone else instead if they get anyone. Cinci seems like a shoe in.

I can't see why they'd go Houston over UCF or BYU (even with the no-Sundays issue).
A fifth team in TX accomplishes nothing. There's no way that UH would add an extra dime to a media rights package.

They added TCU.
Some media guys are saying BYU wont work because of geography, and refusal to play on Sunday.
But, I agree that Houston would probably just weaken the B12 even more, and only make a small dent in the SEC's Texas presence.

Houston seems to be making a little noise on the recruiting front.

I would prefer SMU as I've always liked them and almost went to school there, but who cares? It wouldn't bother me. It's a commuter school.

I think an addition of BYU would royally piss off West Vigrinia. They are already getting raked over the coals in travel costs and headed further out west would add fuel to an already smoudering tinder pile.
Cincy
UCF
Hell, go ahead with SMU or UH.
I think ND was the decider of which conference would survive or not. ACC got them, so the Big XII got boxed out.

BYU blew it. Their list of demands to the Big 12 burned a bridge.

UH has a football program?

I don't think this will ever happen. I know UT thinks everyone is beneath them, but they really think this about UH. Remember, UH didn't join the SWC until 1976. The Big 12 will collapse before Texas will agree for Houston to join.

Texas has 6 commits, 3 of them 3-stars. Ranked 39th. Can't that guy recruit?

Which I don't think was a net gain. But at least it could be argued that TCU replaced A&M. There is no fiscally sound argument to make for Houston.

1. tu would never let that happen.
2. It might hurt a little, but I like UH and hope the best for them.

I think it would be a great opportunity for UH. I like how UH is improving as a university overall.
Not threatened or concerned about that possibility at all. I think the SEC provides enough of a distinction between the schools RE: recruiting
Tech, Baylor, and tu should be more concerned...

Recruiting wise it would hurt A&M somewhat but it would hurt Texas all the same if not worse. So I'm not sure if they really want to go that rout.
