Aggies, do you have a coach on your radar to replace Sumlin?

You guys have elite facilities, fertile recruiting ground and a big checkbook. Finding an elite coach should be easy. Do you have anyone in mind or one that you would like to see in College Station? Maybe Sumlin pulls out a 10+ win season and makes you happy but in all reality I doubt you guys expect it from him. Good luck either way.

Many alumni wanted to be in the Herman sweepstakes, but after seeing him tear down a locker I think we may have dodged a bullet.

Not sure there is anyone else currently on the radar. Seems to be a strange period of time where there are a handful of elite coaches then a whole lot of mediocre.

College Station big wigs want to try to repeat their success with Chavis and are fully committed to going after LSU's Orgeron.
Money will not be an issue.

If we could get Les and Chief back together, they would do amazing things at A&M. Look at how much they squeezed out of LSU with old facilities and a toxic culture. With an actual quality program behind them, they'd win a natty in 3 years tops.

Not a lot of elite coaches out there.. I mean look at who USC, Florida, Texas and LSU have hired recently.

Orgeron has said that his dream job is HC of the A&M.
It's a natural...

I'm not sure if you're being a wiseass, but Kelly would be perfect with the players assembled at the moment.

I have no idea who should be next, I'm just sure there should be a "next".

Is he established enough? I doubt you guys would have a problem attracting an established, proven winner. It's a really good job.

Considering elite coaches are hard to find these days, I would expect Chad Morris to get a hard look.

I think he will be the next up and comer after this year people are looking at.

Nice sarcasm.

Chad Morris is a name that comes up the most often as he is an alumnus of our school to begin with, and has done well as a coordinator.

If he does well with SMU this year and we do fire sumlin, expect his name to be one of the first thrown out. Supposedly Baylor wanted him pretty bad last year after firing briles but Morris wanted an exemption clause in his buyout for a school or two, including his alma mater.....

He whipped Tom Herman last year, helped build Clemson, and has relationships with Texas high school coaches. The parity in pay is at a point where no one is really stealing coaches away anymore. Think about the last time a Power 5 program hired away another Power 5 head coach. It just doesn't happen anymore.
