If we win out, or win every game except Auburn, I think Sumlin deserves another chance. That being said, if we can get James Franklin, which I doubt we can, then we need to let Sumlin go and upgrade.

Aggie isnt making a run at anybody; Jeff Long, however, has been making those calls.

Seeing as how Franklin was born, raised, and went to college in Pennsylvania, I'm inclined to call bullshite. Sumlin will be there many more years.

Why would he leave PSU for A&M?
Aggies would be lucky to get him

From where does this stuff originate?
A single person gets a hairbrained idea; he passes it along to a syndicated writer; *boom,* the Ags are suddenly stalking Penn State.
And I agree ... I'm not at all convinced Franklin would be more successful than Sumlin..

Sumlin remains one of only six active coaches to beat Nick Saban since he arrived at Alabama in 2007. The others are Urban Meyer, Dabo Swinney, Mark Richt, Gus Malzahn and Kyle Whittingham.
Sumlin is also one of the most respected coaches in the game having coached a Heisman Trophy winner (Johnny Manziel) and four other consensus All-Americans. He has the best record of any Aggies coach (44-21, .677) since R.C. Slocum left in 2002, though Texas A&M hasn't won a conference title since 1998.
In 10 years as a head coach, Sumlin has only one losing season (5-7 in 2010 with Houston).

No reason to really leave PSU for Aggie. It's not an upgrade outside of recruiting.

Don't think he would. He's from the Penn area as well. We heard whispers that A&M would send some probes to a lot of top coaches in P5 conferences, but I would imagine Franklin would probably just get a raise out of the deal.

Yep all he is doing is trying to get a raise. Same thing with Jimbo and LSU.

Nobody would unless they were fired or forced to resign.

Franklin's agent probably made it up in order to get him a raise

The only jobs in the SEC that wouldn't be a step down for Franklin would be Alabama, Georgia, Florida, LSU and maybe Tennessee.

He's not gonna leave Penn state. He's revived that program. He's from Pennsylvania. He's not going to go to cowland and try to operate a swag copter

The only thing coming out of all this is that Franklin and his lawyer will be getting a raise and a bonus. When will these school ever learn. Franklin is playing them.
