Montgomery looks beastly, Mingo too light to play DE. They miss the Honey Badger more than I thought.

Mett looks like a 1st year starter. Unimpressive.

Overall they look like last years team minus honey-b, without an experienced QB and out of shape.

They looked exactly how I expected them to look playing North Texas. Bland, and unexcited.

That was a terrible game to try and judge their season.

The running game will win most game for LSU, but after the Mettsiah hype I thought the passing game looked as bad as ever.

He weighs less than last year. I saw him get pushed around some.

I agree. Out of shape wasn't hard to see.

They've got a long way to get a top SEC passing attack.

First 70%+ since 07
First 500 yards+ since 07

And the playcalling was so exciting

on mett's td he:
1. Stepped up in the pocket (havent seen that in a looooong time)
2. Thread the needle

I agree we weren't overly impressive but I don't think we looked any worse than Bama did to open last season against Kent State.

We shut it down on offense because of the poor protection by our O line and RB's. We really didn't throw it down field because they played over 10 yards off. They didn't come out that excited because it was NT. The whole week was screwed up due to the hurricane. We will not miss TM on punt returns. The freshmen played fine, it was the veterans that were responsible for the TD's. It was the first game of the season. Don't put to much into this game.

Why do we need to be UT or Arky in the passing game? LSU still has a good D, great ST, and a punishing running game.

I don't know your repuatation as a poster or analyzation skills but I'm questioning the analytical part because of the 1st statement. Monty was average in this game. Mingo was by far the better player in the game. He impacted the game many times. Monty, not so much.

Mett didn't really excite me a lot but if you think either of last years QBs could make some of those passes then I don't know what to tell you. The TD to Boone was a bad decision but a perfect, NFL pass that few qbs can make. JJ and JL would've strugggled with the little screens that we threw all night.

Amidst all the talk of Bama's great performance(it was) is the lack of talk about how average AJ looked. Should we take that game as the barsetter for his ability? Did he just have a lucky, hot night in Jan? I don't think so but the reasoning is the same as yours for Mett.

Y U Mad?

It's a game LSU won easily. I find it funny so many rantards get upset when you say they didn't look impressive.
