After Saban retires from Bama, would he coach again if offered the Notre Dame job?

I start off by saying that I believe Saban will retire at Alabama. However, let's say he decides to retire in the next 5 years after winning a couple of more national championships and passing Bear's Alabama NC record. What if Notre Dame calls up and asks him to come bring the glory back to their program? Notre Dame is basically still a mess, discounting the over rated team that played for a NC. Saban is a devout Roman Catholic and wouldn't have anything that he needed to prove. Do you think he would take the job for 5 years to bring the program back? Would Bama fans still embrace him the way Florida fans did Spurrier after his SC gig?

A dude like Saban retires and dies in two months.

Not after the experiences he had as an altar boy

You know Wreck. I can see Saban retiring and hating it and wanting to coach somewhere as a possibility. I don't think he would want to coach at either Notre Dame of Texas if that happens. Saban will only coach somewhere he has complete control of the football program. Bama was the perfect choice because they were coming off of probation, and were humble and desperate enough to agree to that. As bad as Notre Dame and Texas have been they are still not humble enough to keep the rich alumni from making football decisions.

We like hiring retired coaches. If Muschamp doesn't work out and Saban is retired, maybe we go after him as well. Worked with two coaches who were revered in Lou Holtz and Steve Spurrier. And nobody believed either of them would EVER consider coming out of retirement and taking on the job at South Carolina.

Texas is a lock. Texas oil money can't be beat.

This whole "Saban prefers to rebuild programs" narrative is a myth. If it weren't, he'd have left Bama 5 years ago.

No for the reason viceman talked about. He would, however, have complete autonomy at South Carolina.
ETA: And obviously he enjoys coaching in the SEC.

Yes. Notre Dame finally fires Kelly in 5-7 years to hire 70+ year old nick Saban.

Saban cant win at a lower level school and he damn sure couldnt take the pressure of coaching at ND. HE would have to run a clean program and couldnt recruit the type players he does now. The players at Bama can barely pass an elementary school exit exam

Lol. Because the pressure at ND is so much more than at Bama. FOH

When he retires from coaching he will have to have a job in football to some degree. I personally would love to see him run a football school and become a life coach. The guy understands hard work more than anyone and could do wonders to inspire young people.

Northwestern identified the most graduates of any school responding with 18 players on their 2017 roster who are seeking a second diploma.
Other schools reporting a double digit number of graduates on their rosters included Coastal Carolina (14), Virginia (14), Cincinnati (13) Toledo (13), Central Florida (12), Alabama (12), Oregon (12), TCU (12), Kansas State (11), Maryland (11), South Alabama (10), South Florida (11), New Mexico (10), Texas Tech (10), West Virginia (10) and Kent State (10).
This article is a couple of years old now, but I can't find one quite like it more recent, anyway I think my point is made that Saban is remarkably good at graduating players
