You can thank Alabama for raising the overall level of softball in the SEC. You're welcome

Thanks for the state of Mississippi for almost 40% of the losses for the conference.

Kinda of weird when you see teams play double headers on back to back days. Then again the pitchers can just throw throw throw and it doesnt really matter. Just so used to baseball and rest needed.

That motion is a gamechanger. Very little stress on the arm and a much more natural motion.

That is why one true stud ace can make a team. A&M is solid this year, but we lack an ace so ultimately we won't go very far.

MSU lost 2 games. We out hit WKU 7 to 1 and lost 1-0. The other loss went 12 innings. Looks like we will struggle at the plate this year.

Have to guess that AU's played the hardest schedule so far tho

ETA: this is admittedly blind just knowing that we started off beating #1 OU and lost that same night to #13 Washington (or maybe they're #9, idr)

Alabama was one of several SEC teams to get early success on a National Level.

SEC Programs going to the Softball World Series:

1997: South Carolina
1998: -
1999: -
2000: Alabama
2001: LSU
2002: -
2003: Alabama
2004: LSU
2005: Alabama, Tennessee
2006: Alabama, Tennessee
2007: Tennessee

Since 2008, there have been between 2 and 4 SEC teams make the World Series every single year. The SEC is certainly the dominant conference for Softball these days. Alabama was *one" of the earlier programs to find success. Not sure why the entire league owes its gratitude to Bama though.

Because LSU beats Bama in softball =)

(Won reg season series 2-1, and knocked Bama out of WCWS on way to semis)

And Florida. The only two teams to have titles.

Fla - 2
Bama - 1

Also, Florida was the only team this weekend to beat two rank teams and not drop a game. With the pitching staff stacked, if the freshman can step up with the offense ...Florida will be okay this season.

Wasn't there a year in which 12 of the 14 schools were all in the tournament (8 national seeds)?
