I don't want to derail this thread, but if Arkansas lays an egg in conference and doesn't make the dance, is Anderson done?

As for a list, the sad state of Alabama basketball has taken away my will to rank teams because we would be so far down the list.

I don't know or care about the others, but I think Bama does fair in conference play.

Too much talent IMO for that to happen. Anderson finally decided to recruit and this is probably his most talented team so far. Kingsley was SEC POY pre season, but likely will not get that honor at the end of the season because he isn't as relied upon like he was a year ago.

Not to derail the convo either, but why in the hell did Alabama not go after CJ Jones? That kid is going to be a good one for Arkansas. He is shooting .556 from three.

Alabama would need tremendous improvement to finish that high in the league IMO.

I'm not going to pretend Bama is GOOD, but the SEC isn't great either. I think they'll finish middle of the pack. All of our losses have been close to decent teams.

Alabama doesn't really recruit Central Park because of Darien Knox, the uncle of Justin Knox who transferred from Alabama at the beginning of Grant's tenure, and his relationship with the school. I don't know if that was the reason, but it wouldn't shock me if Pettway advised Johnson to not bother with any kid from there. It also could've just been a recruiting miss

Yes, I love Mike and so hope that doesn't happen but yes.

I'm trying to remain cautiously optimistic this season and not fully embrace the idea of us being goodish but I kinda like our team, they've reeled me in a bit.

The SEC as a whole is better than it has been in 4-5 years. The league is ranked ahead of the Pac 12 and Atlantic 10 right now.

Kentucky, Arkansas, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and Auburn will all be fighting it out for the top 6. Alabama so far this season, has not looked like a team that could get in that mix.

Kentucky, Florida, South Carolina, and Arkansas all have NCAA teams. Georgia, Ole Miss, Auburn, and aTm will all be fighting it out on the bubble.

Again, its not a knock on Alabama, but there are some pretty solid teams in the league this year.

Okay. I was curious.

As far as body and appearance goes...he looks the NBA ready part. He just needs to figure out how to play defense more consistently in our system to get more minutes going forward. He has a gorgeous jumper though and can really shoot it. He is by far my favorite freshman on our team this year.

I do think the SEC is getting better. I just don't think Alabama is as bad as their record looks right now.

I think Kentucky is gonna win the SEC pretty easily but I think 2 through 8 is gonna be separated by only a few games. I think the only awful team is Missouri.

Losses have been against Dayton, vs Valpo, at Texas, at Oregon, vs Clemson. All close losses. Only good win is against Arkansas State who is like in the 50s in ESPN's RPI. Most positive thing I got from the non-conference play was the last game. Avery scrapped half the playbook so they could play faster and take better shots. It worked for the most part against a pretty good team. Looking forward to seeing how we play now that that happened. I think their ceiling is like 5th or 6th (though I don't expect them to finish that high) and the worst they'll do is like 11th. I'm gonna say we finish around 8th.

I think Kentucky will be separated by a couple games at the top, then SC, Ark, and UF will be separated by the ones below them by a couple games.

Would be nice so JJ would for sure get canned, but Mizzou, Vandy, MSU, and Bama are definitely worse than LSU.

I think it will be something like Kentucky 15-3 and half the league around 10-8 to 12-6.

Based on what? The only two decent teams you've played are both 30 point losses
