3 of Vandys first 4 series have been on the road against USC, Kentucky and OM.

South Carolina only being one game back is truly surprising to me.

Jake Mangum jammed his right hand sliding into 3rd base off a triple. X-rays say nothing broken but he tried to bat later and told Andy Cannizaro no way he can swing it, too much pain. I hope he is ok because we can't take another injury.

The next two series for A&M is @Bama & Tenn. We're going to continue to climb up the standings. The minimum expectation should be 9-9, but baseball will baseball.

We played OM on the road and swept them and just took 2 of 3 from KY and we have half the team out with injuries. Can I make excuses too?

Wasn't thinking in terms of excuse, but rather that we have an excellent shot to close the gap.

I would have the same emotions if Alabama was undefeated. I've tried getting into baseball but I fall asleep every time. It's like melatonin for me. Congrats to the good teams though.

State avoids Vanderbilt, and still has series against Alabama and Georgia. Home series with Auburn and LSU are going to decide whether they host or not.

Lost 12 players from last year and had seven injuries to pitchers. I didn't think they would win 8 SEC games all year and they are 8-4. 8-1 since kicking two cancers off the team.

Well, considering what we lost off of last years team and with 8 pitchers out for the year, I had MSU finishing last in the west. I'm quite pleased where we are all things given. The thing is, Jake Mangum has had to pitch recently because we are so thin in pitching. We are one more injury away from going backwards. We had a 9th pitcher go down a few days ago from a groin.

I have never seen so many injuries in my life. I guess it's true, when it does happen it comes in bunches. I remember Georgia football few years back having same issue. Player after player going down. But what can you do but keep playing.

LSU can't hit and should fire their coach. Tiger Rant told me so it must be true.

What is crazy is 1 - 11 have a range of 20-25 wins and 14-58 RPI (Mizzou & Ole Miss as the outliers, most are 14-31)

A lot parity in the SEC. I wouldn't be shocked if someone besides the 4 teams in first win the conference.

State gotta pay Cannizaro. I have no idea how State is tied for the lead after the draft and injuries depleted this team. LSU is going to come calling soon. We got to pay that man.

Given that we have had one game each SEC series where we just completely fall apart on the field for some reason its a surprise we are doing so well. We have to keep hitting the ball well though, I am not sure we have the pitchers to win a lot of 1-0 type games.

Was anyone expecting Auburn or Kentucky to come out playing this well? I'm not saying that to knock them but I don't remember anyone really talking them up before things started.

Regardless, a lot of good baseball being played in the SEC this year. If this holds up we could have multiple teams in the race for the #1 seed.

Cohen pisses success

In all seriousness, I think State's ceiling is a super regional. Just not enough pitching to make a run.

I'm going to go on record and say that prediction may have been flawed.
