Absurd Scenario

Emphasis on the word "Absurd"
A&M and Georgia both win out.
A&M beats Georgia in Atlanta.
Clemson and Washington are the only unbeaten teams in the top 4.
1-loss Penn State (Ohio State) and 1-loss Oklahoma (Texas) are conference champions. Alabama's 1 loss is A&M.
Who are the 4 playoff teams?

A lot of extras just to ask,
"If it comes to it, which 2 get in among a 1 loss OU, PSU, and aTm."
But...
Clemson, Udub, OU, and aTm in that scenario imo.

There would be no SEC team in the CFP.
1 Clemson
2 Wash
3/4 PSU/ OU
1 Clemson
2 Wash
3/4 PSU/ OU

Clemson
Washington
Penn St
Oklahoma
The unbeatens will get in playoff.
The brand names that are conference champs will get in.
It is more likely that Alabama would get in over A&M, but I think the committee would save face by taking the conference champs. Oklahoma having a victory over Ohio State on the road would get them in.

Nope, just getting in my shitpost for the week.
Were this scenario to happen, Sumlin is gone anyway, as he would take the NY Jets job.

Trust me, winning your conference is no longer a certainty given that PSU whipped ohio states arse, won the conference, but when it came down to it... they let the blue blood school in rather than have the perception that the pedophile school has bounced back so soon.
Too many politics and money sewn into this selection committee shite and you can bet your sweet arse that if a traditional team is remotely close to your schools chance of getting in, then you will be screwed.

Penn St squeaked by Ohio State and lost to Michigan by 39.
You nailed the pedofile part though.

Had Penn State not lost to Temple last year they were in. 11-2 vs. 12-1.

Interesting scenario.
A&M would have wins over two 11-1 schools likely in the top 5 and top 8 or so.
Winning out really puts all of the momentum on us, especially since our loss would be by 1 point.
Also Alabama would never be put in ahead of TAMU in this scenario, FSU is shitting it up right now and that would be their best win besides Auburn which A&M also has the win over.
IMO it would be:
1. Clemson
2. Washington
3. Oklahoma
4. Texas A&M
SEC will never be left out of the playoffs unless the champion is a 2 loss team.

What if you lost points for the head coach speaking clearly and this becomes reviewable in Birmingham? Mississippi State is deducted 31 points, and bam, LSU wins in retrospect. It's not easy to just speak jumbled garbage if you're not used to it, so no other team is able to keep points against us. LSU goes on to win the national championship but there's a shortage of whatever metal is used to make the trophy so they carve up a big jack fruit and make it out of that. Coach O learns that it's edible, so he's not going to not throw it in some gumbo just to try it out. If it ended up being the best gumbo ever, what country is the first to colonize Mars?

If Aggy has one loss by 1 point, then Aggy obviously gets in

What I'm taking from this is this could be the year that losing a game bites the SEC.
Okay, say the PAC, the B1G, the Big 12, and the ACC all have undefeated teams at season's end.
However it happens, no SEC team is undefeated.
Say Penn State, Washington, Oklahoma, and Clemson are all 12-0. Alabama loses one, whether it is to Auburn, A&M, the championship game in Atlanta. The East team isn't unbeaten or gets knocked off by a one loss West team.
Obviously we don't know if the cards fall that way, but would anyone be surprised to see it?

If there are 4 undefeated power 5 teams at the end of the regular season then those 4 will go to the CFP.
What reasoning would they have not to go? Didn't win by a big enough margin?
