Galveston, Texas (CBS HOUSTON) — A Texas A&M Galveston professor says he hit a “breaking point” as he failed an entire class of students in his management course that he said required “security guards” for him to feel safe teaching.
In a scathing email sent to students in his Strategic Management class, Texas A&M Galveston professor Irwin Horwitz called his class a disgrace to the school and said “it became apparent they couldn’t do some of the most simple and basic things they should have been able to do,” KPRC-TV reports. Horwitz said a semester of backstabbing, lying, cheating and disrespect has caused him to fail everyone in the class and that he will no longer be teaching the course.

Galveston is a great place to go if you want to pretend like it's 1992.

Nothing but failures out at Sea Aggy

Galveston Aggies are gonna Galveston Aggie. If Horowitz felt he needed security for the class, he's in a lot more danger now...

If the professor is tenured there is not a damn thing the university can do about this.

Wrong. Department heads have the authority to change grades.

Had the opposite happen at Auburn in Chem Eng... They had to figure out how to not fail the entire senior class. Process Control was the last class for most of us to graduate and we had a "new" prof. It was not a good situation. We actually had some people with Phd's in chemistry getting a second degree. There were about 60-70 of us and the first test was 140 points. Class average was 18 (yes 18).. High was 40. Low was 4. Still remember these after 30+ years. I took my 28 as a big deal. Unless they graded on a curve no one would graduate. Luckily they had a curve.

He must be a tenured professor or have other positions available to him to pull that off

My physics professor failed an entire class in a master's degree level course and he got put on probation. I hope that man is retired, and I will be making a special trip to Auburn when Parker Hall is demolished.

Does AU have a program worth following?

Someone claims to have posted the real letter sent out in the comments. Apparently this may be a story cooked up by the school to fire him.
Would be even weirder .
