My bold prediction this year, trolling aside, is that we won't win 8 or 9 games. It will be more or less than that. I think this season ends with Sumlin on the hot seat or with Texas A&M as a serious SEC contender for years to come.

I'm more concerned about our offense than defense. That's where I'm at. I could see anywhere from 6-10 wins.

All kidding aside, this is how I feel about LSU too this year. We will either be leading a witch hunt for Les or erecting a statue at the end of this season.

The real issue isn't A&M, it's the rest of the west. A likely top 25 national team is going to finish 7th in the division.

8 win regular season for A&M. '16 should be pushing 10 wins.

ANybody buying this? i do think they will beat ASU this weekend by 10-14 points. they always start the season strong(ask South Carolina).

So the South Carolina game has more to do with A&M having super powers in game 1, even though we lost both our previous opening games against real opponents under Sumlin? In 2012 we lost to Florida and in 2013 we lost to Alabama. Those were both 11 win teams. In 2014, South Carolina just wasn't very good, so we steam rolled them. Starting the season strong is an anomaly.

It's really amazing ho much the narrative about A&M has changed in the last month. First, the rant said we were going to be terrible. Now, it's fairly common to hear someone say that we're going to win 10 games.

Nobody knows, really. I'm optimistic, though.

You won't be erecting a statue.

You can do better than this.

I've heard a prediction for every single team to go 10-2 or 11-1

That's what Les wants you to think.

said if Chief can get them up to speed they could be very dangerous.

Here's how I see their defense performing this season, much like LSU, they'll be good early on and fade down the stretch.

For A&M, Chief will have to scheme to get his defense off the field, but once teams get some tape on his schemes, his talent will let him down.

Just the opposite for LSU, the talent will carry the defense until other teams realize there is no scheme, and the talent won't be able to overcome the lack of scheme.

I have spoken.

Wouldn't a lot of buzz indicate that they aren't underrated anymore?

The D might get better but the Offense will decline after the terrible hire of Christenson along with attempting to run the ball vs screen passes on every play Or tossing Ducks and praying their 6'5 receivers come down with it

7-5 at best

Every teasip I've talked to thought Arkansas was one of the best teams in the SEC last year, and should have been in the top 25. They finished 7th last year. So there's that.

But rarely does a team with 5 losses finish in the top 25, and simple math means that's probably going to happen to an SEC team or two. Doesn't mean that every team in the SEC West isn't deserving, just that the media/pollsters has strong anti-SEC bias because they are scared to admit that a losing record in the SEC West easily gets you a winning record in any other conference.
