I met a UT grad last night and he has to be the most obnoxious unreasonable person I've ever met. I couldn't hold a conversation with him on any subject without him saying my opinion doesn't matter because I never went to UT Austin.

No, they're bad. We left a conference we'd been in for 75 years to get away from them. Colorado and Nebraska let them into their house, and eventually ran away and let the obnoxious newcomers have it. Mizzou and TAMU left longtime rivals to put distance between themselves and the burnt orange mafia. They're like that person you know that has been married 7 times to good people. You know it has to be them.

The thing that makes the fan base even more irritable is that 90% of them didn't go to school there and share absolutely nothing in common with the culture (largely liberal and pretentious) at campus. They would do much better supporting A&M, Texas Tech, or U of H. Most of the Texas grads that have worked for me have very little in common with the obnoxious T-shirt fans I run into while in TX.

Well, yeah, but they're still unbearable. UT is like the spoiled kid on your street that thought he was the kooolest because he had the hottest bike, his dad had a tricked out truck, and they wore only designer brand clothes, even to play football.
TAMU is that kinda arrogant country kid who didn't have alot of friends, but he still had high self-esteem. His clothes weren't trendy, he wasn't particularly good looking, and usually sat in the lunch room by himself but didn't care.
It's alot easier to like, or at least tolerate the weird goober than it is the pompous arse.
