Heading to A&M for the Ole Miss game later this year. Never been. Any reco's on how to make it a good experience? Best bars for before or after the game? Pre-game tailgating experience? Logistics for getting to the stadium?

Pre-thanks for any feedback and advice.

Went to the LSU game a couple of years ago. Campus was basically empty at 3 in the afternoon

Get there an hour before game time. Head back to Austin immediately after the game and party downtown.

They do synchronous yells and shake their hands

Other than that, it's a terrible trip

A&M has the nicest fans in the SEC.

You will have a good time.

You're in College Station, not sure how you can make that a good experience...

Just kidding. A&M fans have been great to their guests from what I've heard since they joined the SEC. Don't know a ton about the bar scene outside of the Dixie Chicken, but thankfully there are a lot of Ags to help you out. If you're a golfer, C Stat has some fantastic courses to play. Fans are always rowdy, so it should be a fun away experience. I know this was really no help whatsoever, but I tried

This. I left from Austin that day (thanksgiving, which is supposedly a big deal to these schools) and met my friends at the UT campus to head out, and I didn't see a human out anywhere at about 10 in the morning. I was shocked. By the time we got to TAMU there were a good bit of people but just not the numbers you'd expect.

Yea we don't like the thanksgiving game if we're forced to play LSU. Not an interesting matchup, and it's a holiday. Of course it's a dead atmosphere.

Well for fricks sake, y'all are the ones that forced that date. There's no reason to play on thanksgiving then if nobody wants to do it.

LSU fans love riding Autin and UT's dick because they're insecure and jealous, and most of those poor swamp cretins have never seen a real city before.

Northgate is on the north side of campus probably a mile from the stadium. You can walk easily between the two on campus. 25+ bars and restaurants, I would recommend bar hopping around. Not sure how old you are/what you're looking for, most of them are cheap college bars with lots of college kids but a lot of fun. Some more rowdy than others. They also don't close at midnight or 1 am like a lot of you old south weirdos

Tailgating is largely in Spence Park next to the stadium and on West Campus across Wellborn from the stadium. If you walk around and act normal you will likely get offered plenty of food

Not sure if you have a hotel in town or not, but like most SEC campuses parking and traffic is a bitch on Gameday. You can park in a driveway of a house in the neighborhood south of stadium and pay (typically to a college kid who lives in the house if you can't find street parking). There's also a garage on Northgate that does hourly parking (don't remember the rate) and overnight parking for $25 (I think). Best deal if you need to have a car there IMO. I usually park at my hotel, take Uber to Northgate, and walk to the tailgate from Northgate.

It's the hard truth. Your people are mostly poor and from rural areas. It's no wonder y'all think Austin is some sort of Mecca.

Texas Fight, Texas Fight,
And it’s goodbye to A&M.
Texas Fight, Texas Fight,
And we’ll put over one more win.

We're in their fight song. They are in ours. Get over it.

Hopefully more of them start moving to Austin instead of Houston. Would be nice. They're a scourge on our society.

A city of abnormal freaks, weirdos, hippies, girly men, yuppies, and ignorant morons.

Not seeing this "real" city is a good thing.
