SERIES HISTORY Texas A&M leads 21-18-1

Since the Aggies joined the SEC for the 2013 campaign, both teams have claimed two series with two-of-three results. LSU won the series in 2013 and 2015 and the Aggies claimed the series in 2014 and 2016. Tied at 6-6 since 2013, seven of the 12 games have been decided by one run

Always one of the bigger series of the year so I figure why not start a thread. Series starts tonight and both teams are hungry. LSU is fresh off losing a series to UF and a midweek to Tulane. A&M went through a potential season crushing stretch losing 6 of 7 before winning Sunday and Tuesday. LSU should have an edge in starting pitching, relief pitching, hitting depth, and home field.

Both teams need a series win this weekend.
Going to be interesting to see which team shows up with backs against the wall.
This is always one of my favorite series of the season

Probably a much bigger series for A&M than LSU

as "bad" as it is for LSU, we are still 4-2 in the sec in week 3. Not terrible.

Winning just one against Kentucky is bad enough

I thought your OP did a pretty good job of explaining both teams' situation

Well if LSU does sweep then they'll even the all-time series and basically, bury A&M in the conference standings. Nothing short of a minor sports miracle would revive A&M's postseason hopes.

I've heard a bunch of excuses including mid-week games are not indicative of how successful we can be to we've only lost to really good talent. If we don't perform well in this series and at least get the series win there's no excuse... we just don't have it.

I would take 1 out of three and run with it right now. We are not good. Don't know why I bothered to make the trip. Be easy on us.

A&M will have a large advantage in coaching, and I can't name a single one on your staff.

The last time this series was close to even was on May 27, 1989.

My prediction: LSU leaves far more runners on and our average with RISP dips below .200

Surprised A&M is off to such a slow SEC start.
They actually impressed me the most at the Houston College Classic as they really hit the ball well compared to Ole Miss and LSU. They blew two games but they were the best SEC team there that weekend.
