That's what Mark Richt is. UGA hasn't had this much success since Vince Dooley and this conference is way tougher now than it was with Dooley. People talk about the East being down but Richt has been at the helm through Meyer at UF, and Spurrier at USC (Two of the best coaches in their respective programs history) All Mark has done is consistently win 10 games, sometimes a little more and sometimes a little less. Donnan won 10 games once in 5 years and Goff had one 10 win season as well. No reason for people to call for Richt's head at UGA. Maybe if he took over the early 2000 Miami Hurricanes, USC Trojans or Texas Longhorns or the current Alabama Crimson. But taking over UGA and doing this, firing him is a joke.

Mark Richt is successful?

He has been a head coach of one program longer than any of the national championship winning coaches since he has been hired

Over the long term, you're not wrong. But on the micro level, I watched this team roll over and quit on Saturday. That's a problem.

Missouri has won the east the past two years. Let that sink in and then come back and try again.

Coaching to get fired is a joke.

Even Vince Dooley's son had a winning record against Butch.

Richt has the benefit of a 12 game season rather than an 11 game season. Was harder to win 10 games then.

Can you explain how Mizzou lost only two conference games in 2 years while Richt lost 5 (4 of the losses were to East teams) in those same two years?

Should Richt get outcoached by Pinkel so easily?

This year Richt struggled to beat a Mizzou team that doesn't even have an offense.

Richt's seat should be warm.

Joke post bro. I love Richt and have supported him a long time, even after 2010. But this feels different. Even after 2010 he still had the support of most. UGA quit on Saturday and his decision to roll with Bauta the whole game was boggling. He's done a lot for UGA and is a good coach but it's time for a change, for him and for us.

GA fans just don't get it. They never have.

No, the UGA program has outgrown Richt. He has always been a baseline 8-9 win coach. The difference is now with the SEC being such a dominant conference, more is expected of a Big 6 SEC program like UGA.

OP is a Mark Richt fan, not a UGA fan.

Personally, I think Richt has always been successful and could very well have won at least one NC with a little luck.

That being said, fifteen years is a long time to coach in one spot and I wonder if both parties might be better off with something different.

Yeah totally. Just a Mark Richt fan, not an UGA fan... good one

Here comes the comeback...well if you were an UGA fan you'd want him fired.

Georgia hasn't won a NC since what??? 1980? How many SEC titles since then... UT, Bama, Florida, LSU, and Auburn have all owned your asses over that span as far as hardware and titles go...

The sad thing is Georgia should be a MUCH better team...

Don't try to argue with dwag fans. It will melt their brain. Let them enjoy their mediocrity.
