I've seen a lot of posters on here criticizing LSU fans, all of who seem to think this is just about the last 2 games, or Alabama/Nick Saban generally. It isn't. So now, in an attempt to educate you, I will explain all the ways in which LSU fans are sick and tired of Les and are ready for a change.

Note that none of these are, by themselves, necessarily fireable offenses, but when combined together give you a portrait of why and how a fan base gets to the point where they feel the joy has been sucked out of LSU football for them.

#1 A boring, predictable offense that is about as fun as watching paint dry. When everyone in the stadium knows what's coming just based on formation and personnel 75-80% of the time, it gets real frustrating, real fast.

#2 A passing game that, outside of 2013, has not been effective over the last SEVEN years. I really shouldn't have to explain this one. Our passing game has been abysmal for an extended period. many gave Les the benefit of the doubt for awhile, but at this point it's clear that the problem is with les, either in who he is recruiting or how his philosophy on offense doesn't allow for a quarterback to develop. Our one success in this period was with a transfer.

#3 Undisciplined play. LSU has averaged over 10 penalties a game every single year Les has been at LSU. This has lead to more game changing penalties than I can even count. It's not the referees, it's not a conspiracy against LSU. It's a head coach that does not instill proper discipline on his team and over time these unforced errors really wears you out as fan.

#4 Poor execution. Somewhat related to #3, LSU frequently makes mental mistakes on both sides of the ball that lead to missed coverages, blocks, assignments, and open receivers. This is going to happen on any college team, but to see our opponents seemingly more prepared to execute their game plan on a week in and week out basis is another very frustrating factor that has worn LSU fans out over the last 7-8 years.

#5 Declining line play. For many years under Les, LSU has had very good offensive line play and oftentimes dominant defensive line play. it has been the hallmark of our success. That is no longer the case. Over the last 3 years LSU's play on both sides of the line of scrimmage has dropped off dramatically. This has lead to a situation where Les wants to win games a certain way, but is unable to do so because he doesn't have the kind of team set up to win games that way anymore. Which leads me to #6...

#6 Refusal to adapt. When Nick Saban saw that his offensive philosophy wasn't working anymore, what did he do? he changed it. He hired Lane Kiffin. he started throwing the ball more. He realized that what had worked isn't guaranteed to work going forward. Football evolves, and to continue to be successful you have to evolve with it. les Miles either does not understand this concept, or he simply refuses to acknowledge it. This refusal has lead to:

#7 Declining results. LSU, for many years, was rarely blown out under Les Miles. When I say blown out I mean lose by 3 scores or more. Sure there is the odd big loss, Florida 2008 comes to mind, but for the most part we have always been competitive and played with toughness and pride. This is no longer the case. While we still play down to opponents as we always have, LSU has now been blown out FIVE times over the last 2 years, with a great shot do have it happen again on Saturday. LSU is now 13-9 in SEC play over the last 3 years. A loss to Ole Miss makes that 13-10. that's mediocre no matter how you slice it.

TL;DR: It's not just the last two games and it's not just about Alabama. if we were going 12-1 or 11-2 losing to bama and the odd one off, we wouldn't be having this conversation right now.

All solid points. LSU has won a lot of games under Miles, nobody can argue that. But the feeling I get each season is that we win despite Miles, not because of him. The talent of the players is so high that it can overcome bad coaching many of the times.

ETA: I like the man. He is all class. He just isn't that great of a coach in modern times. Hell of a recruiter, hell of a nice guy, but he is stuck somewhere in the past with his coaching technique.

In a lot less words:

We have really good players and keep getting our arse kicked by not only Bama, but at lease one team that we're more talented then. We think we deserve better. Whether or not we're right remains to be seen.

we heard zero calls for Miles to be fired until the last 2 games. Zero this year (to be fair though, calling for a change has become an annual tradition for some of your fans, so we all felt it was only a matter of time before you did it again).

Until 3 weeks ago all we heard about was LF7 winning the heisman and how this was another LSU Leap Year and the 4 year cycle was playing out

I wouldn't really say our offense wasn't working anymore. He did decide that to win in the future we needed to find a way to exploit matchups and create more explosive plays.

He was really just thinking ahead, which is probably more of a plus to your argument.

To give Miles some credit, he did go undefeated in 2011 and make another title. But then...

if you paid attention you'd realize that LSU fans believe Les wins despite himself. The horses are there, just wrong jockey. You can pretend you know what our fan base thinks all you want, but you're dead wrong.

I agree, I was speaking moreso on a macro level. That '11 LSU team was disgustingly good. To be honest it's likely better than any team UGA has ever fielded.

Just saying that over their entire careers, there really isn't a whole hell of a lot that separates the 2 other than that one fluky title.

Would LSU fans trade Les for Richt? I'd take Les in a heartbeat. Maybe a change of scenery for both would do them well.

Sorry not sorry about LSU winning a national championship with 2 losses. Georgia would love to have won a NC in the last however many years since the last one.
